Until Palm gives developers a real SDK, and not this web app-style development, the Pre's apps will be heavily hindered in comparison to iPhone OS apps. Sure, it's not difficult to be running multiple apps when they don't have the power to do anything impressive. So, paid apps or not, I can't see an upside to using that platform if you can afford both providers.
I'm a Mac guy, but I know that Microsoft has a great media center with Windows Media Center. That's what I use at my home.
Madden NFL has already been announced if I'm not mistaken.
Is there something like this available for Windows Server?
T-Mobile? Why? You'd still have to enter into a contract. As far as I know T-Mobile prepaid plans don't offer data.

So sure, it might be a tad cheaper to enter into a T-Mobile contract and pay that, but either way you're in a contract.
This is exactly what I thought when I saw the headlines like "Palm Pre works beautifully with iTunes", etc. Of course it's hackish. It's not an iPod.
AT&T's terms of service are seriously weird because they never said anything about the OrbLive application which essentially turns your PC into a SlingBox.
Resolution > Screen size. I'm glad somebody finally said it.
Seriously? The iPhone/iPod Touch are way too expensive to be used as controllers.
This happens time and time again. Every new MP3 player is supposed to take down the iPod, every new smartphone is supposed to take down the iPhone. Aren't you tech journalists sick of the headlines already? I've been hearing this crap since about '05 at least.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
