it's not confusing at all having 3 versions, especially when the cheapest version with the least features is called "premuim"
i think the etch-a-sketch did something similar for undo.
i liked the gates/seinfeld ads, but they said absolutely nothing about any microsoft product.
so yeah, they were fun to watch, but pointless.
they didn't change my perception about anything microsoft does or makes.
i felt like i was watching an episode of seinfeld - a commercial about nothing.

as for their new "direction" life without walls... if there are no walls, who needs windows?
what better way to show life without walls than some guy in a cage surrounded by sharks - that really gives an impression of freedom.

rewrite the whole thing from the ground up, or hp will do it for you.
ahhh, all you fools saying apple hasn't done anything. let's talk about the revolutionary zune. when can i spend 10,000 bucks on a microsoft table? how about we keep releasing pathetic upgrades to the office suite that nobody wants to use. i know, everyone has intranets, let's just release a new version of sharepoint with two new features and charge $120 per seat. oh oh ohhhhh, let's brag about microsoft vista selling WORSE than XP in the same timeframe, even though there are an estimated THREE TIMES as many machines running windows as there were then. that should send the stocks flying. Microsoft had better push out halo 4 REAL SOON. maybe they can make Master Chief the official MS mascot... you know, like Mairo.
this doesn't look at all like the macbook. [might revise that tomorrow]
it looks a LOT like the FUJI Finepix Z1 camera.
Ballmer looks like a grade D actor who's claim to fame is playing the part of the goofy neighbor who did nothing but add lousy comic releif to a crappy pilot episode of a show on Fox that never got picked up for 6 more episodes... and Vista sux
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
