Unlike most of you, I'll actually be affected by this. The misses drives an '08 Wrangler Unlimited with a 6/08 build date. Not the end of the world, haven't had a moments problem with the Jeep. For all you haters screaming about quality, my '03 Accord had a transmission recall too, so kwitcherwhining.....

Well you might expect it, but I doubt you'll actually do it. VZW might have been aiming at ATT, but Apple is taking collateral damage. Why in the world would Apple give them a product they've so disparaged, even if it is an improved version? I think all this campaign has done is made ATT very aware of the need to roll out 4G, and to be ready for the 4G version of the iPhone.
Sorry, while I'm no longer on VZW, the mother in law is. Even Verizon isn't adding towers across rural depressed Michigan, still Extended Network.
Alltel still exists, so they are not VZW customers yet. Still number 2.
Wow Jared, new to the internet? How bout dropping that CAPS LOCK button next time?

iPhone to Verizon? Yes, I'm sure after the scathing ad campaign Verizon just launched, Steve Jobs can't wait to cut a deal with VZW. T-Mobile and Sprint will probably get an apple device before Big Red now.
I carried Verizon (personal) and ATT/Cingular/ATT (corporate) devices side by side for 4 years. When my company decided simply to reimburse for cellphones, I could choose. In my area (Cleveland to Chicago), I chose ATT because of the quality issues I had with Verizon and dropped calls. I can personally attest that Verizon's own 3G coverage map is NOT true. My Verizon device did not have 3G, AND would be in Extended Network all over rural part of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Not even or Verizon's network, yet somehow the entire LP is red. Don't lie, Verizon....

That being said, I find it hard to believe that ATT hasn't built out 3G completely between Detroit and Chicago, or between Toledo and Cleveland, both along major highways. But my calls on my iPhone 3G don't drop, and can still stream on EDGE. ATT needs to be challenging Verizon on their lies, but they also need to speed up the 3G buildout.
They build Wranglers with diesels today. They just don't sell them in the US market. I went to a car show at the Toledo North Jeep plant (where most, if not all Wranglers are made), and Chrysler had one on display. I'd love to have one over the dog 3.8 that's in my wife's Unlimited. Fun to drive, unless you are in a hurry....
Well the car in the photo that accompanies this story is not going to be the finished product. GM has a habit of decontenting cars to squeeze the mileage out of them. You can be sure they'll take as much weight out of the Cruze as possible to get the mileage. While its okay for some, I personally hate to drive a stripped down model just to get a few more MPG.

Universally reviled by whom? Part of why I moved to ATT was the problems I had with Verizon coverage. I carried ATT/Cingular AND a Verizon phone around for over 2 years. I'll be happy to point out to you where Verizon is lying on their "theres a map for that" map of Michigan. My ATT coverage in the Ohio/Indiana/Michigan areas is better. I'll also be able to point out parts of Florida for you as well. Still can't figure out why I had no Verizon signal in parts of the Florida Keys or on the Ohio Turnpike, just for example.

As others have said, the market shift to ATT must be concerning to Verizon.....
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
