Still no news of white ones in England, every other country in Europe has them. England gets shafted again!
I'm a little confused. First you ask the question 'Can these devices be purchased and given as gifts?' of which the answer is: 'No. You will need to walk out of the AT&T or Apple store with the device activated.'

You then go on to ask 'What is the penalty for not activating the phone in 30 days? How will that be enforced?'

This is the part that confuses me, as if you have to walk out of the store with the iPhone activated, how is it not going to be activated after 30 days as it will be activated when it is purchased.
Did people really expect it to be the same price without a contract,
as it is with one? What planet are some of you people living on?

Since when were sim free phones the same price as they are on a
contract, erm..... never.

All you idiots saying so much for $199, either go and read the commentary or watch the keynote, No more than $199 with a contract! Morons!
How is the iPhone a limited device, have you not seen the AppStore
Black is gonna be a bitch for finger prints.
That is very sexy!!!!
The reason truegamer doesn't have the reply function on that post is because it is a reply to another post. You cannot reply to a reply! Nothing to do with him being afraid to man up, jack ass!
That map appears to be missing something, hmm... Russia I think it's called.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
