Cars have to go through a boatload of regulations before they can be sold. (Pun intended, sorry) They have to be checked for emissions, crash testing, break testing, and a million other tests. Also, a brand new car like this one will need an entirely new manufacturing plant constructed for assembly. You need to work out deals with parts suppliers, train maintenance personnel, etc., etc. etc.

PLUS, one actually has to be built first. This is just a 'concept' car. That means it probably doesn't really work.
yeah, we like our huge death trap toys so much more.

I hope you have a half a million dollars to purchase the 20 lbs of platinum needed to run the fuel cell. Most people don't. That is why no car companies are talking up their hydrogen cars right now. Real car companies like VW, GM, Honda, Toyota, etc. can't get by with making $100,000 cars. They have to make $15,000-20,000 cars. That's the sweet spot for 90% of the population. Hydrogen has been promised for decades. It just can't be done on a financially viable basis. Unless a meteorite mad of platinum hits the earth, I wouldn't hold your breath for Hydrogen power.
Does anyone know how in the heck Intel can get precision down to 32 nm? I mean wholley mother of guacamole. They are not doing it optically, that is for sure. I wonder what would happen if they broke down below 1 nm. Would our processors become x-ray machines?
Yeah, I noticed that too. I also like it how they showed just one internet page, and it couldn't even load it correctly. Some text... A photo... Some text... A photo. Hey guys: a full internet browser is a 100% must on a cell phone these days. You gave it a big enough screen, with obviously plenty of power. Install opera for christ sake.
The Pre was part of Sprints effort to rebrand itself. Kinda like how The New ATT needed the iPhone for it's rebranding as well. I hope it works for them. I don't plan to be leaving ATT any time soon, but the more competition the better for me.
@Toy,

Coupled devices can be a lot more intelligent than they were in Tesla's day. I imagine you cell phone would send a signal to the transmitter when it is in use or finished charging. Further, it seems to me that there would be very little power lost in this system when not in use, even if the device is alway on, because P=V^2*R. The resistance (or in this case impedance, principle is the same) is nearly 0 if nothing is receiving the power. Only when something is receiving the power will there be an impedance in the transmission of signal.
"Ok, Erik. We have to go now. Thanks for coming on the program and boring the Sh#t out of me."

LOL.
Google is going to open source the system. That means anyone can jump on board who wants to, in anyway they want to. This is really a great deal.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
