Fredrik from Meshuggah actually has a breath controller box which he sometimes employs for guitar solos to get the desired kind of attack for the notes. A bit unnecessary for most people i'd imagine.

But in this context, I think this is a great idea, why not let people who otherwise can't hit the kick pedal give the game a go. Yes it will leave you out of breath if you want to play something that wants to rock blast beats for the whole song or something, but surely being able to play some songs is better than being able to play none.
OH REALLY?!

wow. I didn't even notice the remarkably obvious similarities between this device and this other "iphone" you mention until it was spelt out for me. I didn't notice the graphical similarities of the user interface, I didn't notice the similar shape, form and function of the device and I didn't notice the LARGE SLAB OF TEXT that I believe is called an article, which spells this out clearly.

Thank you for your enlightening comment.
And they'll just move the production to somewhere that doesn't give a toss, or somewhere it's legal (such as Australia, where Sony tried to yell at people providing mods for ps2's back in the day. Same deal).
I don't know a hell of a lot of people who get tattoos removed...

I do know a bunch that get *extra* work done on existing ink.
Wouldn't that be a little difficult for this system to sort out?
addenum: That's even assuming someone at Telstra *did* say this...
I'm from Australia...
And here we know Telstra is not particularly good at keeping their word.

Disregarding this I still call bullshit - what chance is there that apple is going to make a device that will have its battery chewed out like this... Particularly somewhere like here where ADSL2+ and Cable are the standard "fast" internet connections here - clocking in at about 20mbps each.

42mbps on a mobile? Not happening here at the very least.
lol... Impossible to remove.

I'll just continue ripping CD's in flac...
listening to compressed files as mpc...

:) Fun.
Foobar for the win.

There's some *GREAT* customisations for it, no garbage arbitrary library system like itunes and better signal processing than winamp :)
I believe the term is "evil symbian" in the case of the n95... Not evil symbiote ;-) and the last generation had it too...
I'm 19.
I hated high school - but there is no way we'd get away with doing that kind of shit in class. Teachers at our school would confiscate phones if they saw you using them at lunch even.
Then your parents were expected to ring the principal and collect it from him.

The thing that is scary about this though - is that someone thinks an ipod is worth physically assaulting someone for. I'm sure they didn't think "hey I want to break someone's neck" but clearly that in itself is a problem. They didn't think... Not about the person anyway.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
