Diesel gasoline is cheaper than premium gasoline in the United States.

Awesome fact checking, guys! Awesome!
This is a TRADEMARK issue, not a copyright issue.

A car isn't a book, a video, a piece of art, a sound recording or a sculpture.
This is clearly how all the domestics should be working with high-volume, low to mid-priced vehicles. Endless combinations only really work in luxury vehicles where customers are pickier and much more likely to tailor order.

Honda's order system is genius. At the maximum, it only asks five questions:

1) Pick your trim level.
2) Pick your exterior/interior color combo.
3) Manual or automatic?
4) Cloth or leather?
5) NAVI or non-NAVI?
The next generation QX is supposedly just going to be a rebadged Nissan Patrol, which would actually be a great thing.

The Lexus GX is nothing more than a rebadged Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which is the Nissan Patrol's most direct competitor.
"Five Hundred" and "500" are the same thing in trademark. However, since "Five Hundred" is a term which would likely require a showing of secondary meaning, which the Ford Five Hundred would likely never be able to achieve, then there is no trademark issue. Fiat can use the 500 name in the United States.
Idiots.

This is why I have no sympathy for the Big 3. America does not need nor want a Mondeo-based Fusion.

What America needs is the Mondeo, plain and simple.

You guys are morons.

Obviously they sold so few, the car went on sale in the FALL and production didn't ramp up until December.

I doubt anybody is expecting this to be a huge hit, but at least put sales figures into CONTEXT. Or is that too complicated a concept?

Here's a fact: In November 2008, the Routan was the second best-selling car in Volkswagen dealers, bested only by the Jetta.
Shared sheetmetal or not, it looks like an MKS.

Pathetic, but I would expect nothing less from Ford. At least their European products are top notch and will soon start coming to the U.S.
Very creative - a rebadged MKS! Usually the rebadging works in the other direction.
Wow. Great job. Too bad it's FWD.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
