This should be given as an apology gift to us who had to go through 3+ Glydes and they still work like crap.
Agreed Lucas... I think also that there is a little defense of the infallible Nintendo from some people. Both the radio station and Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves. The radio station for staging such a contest, and Nintendo for trickling their systems out in an attempt to keep the hype and hysteria over the system alive.
I can't understand why people complain so much about things. No matter what the companies do, y'all will complain. They have a good game (albeit short) with great multiplayer content, and all that we hear is "waa waa waa". Maybe the ranking system fix is due to people raising their ranks by playing with friends only. I agree that playing with strangers is a little annoying, escpecially when little ten year old timmy (whose parents will later sue MS for such a violent game) yells and screams into the headset. Or the over caffinated teenagers who talk more crap than a sanitation worker, and play cheaply as hell, but they could not fix a thing and move on to GoW 2.

I think the grenade tag fix is awesome, that'll add skill to the game. maybe ridding us of the ten year olds and over caffinated teenagers.
From WiredBlogs:

So why isn't there a built-in HD-DVD drive inside that new Xbox 360 redesign? Because apparently Microsoft isn't entirely confident in it, either. Says Microsoft game technology group product manager Scott Henson:

"We don't want to charge customers $200 extra for something that may be the next Betamax."

So no HD-DVD in your revanped 360s...

Which means you're payin for it folks...
They aren't... the PS2 has outsold the Wii this season. I love it how the first thing people do when a Sony article comes out is say how true it is and bash it. Nofriendo comes out with rehashed games and you try the old "redefined" spin. Zelda was made for the GC... yet came out for the Wii first, and the ratings are better for the GC version. M$ had no great games until Gears of War, anyone who disagrees needs to get their pecker out of their 360s.

I thought that there would be plenty Wii to go around? What happened to that?

I would like to see one unbiased blog or whatever from anyone in the biz today... Can't do it? I thought not...
Engadget, the Fox News of gaming blogs... make Nintendo look great when they screw up (like Dick Cheney shooting someone in the face) and then add a shot at Sony (like mentioning Bill Clinton's affair when talking about the Rep Senator who was messing with teenage boys). If this was a sony issue and they were "replacing" things for free, you bet it'll be a called a recall. If you're going to cover news and info on the gaming systems, at least be fair... no wait, you're engadget.
To ShelterPaw, I agree with you completely. I think that there are prices to pay if you get the first batch of systems. I think Sony is getting a bad rap even though MS did it last year. I think they'll fix all of these problems and the PS3 will have a great lifespan. I disagree with you on the biased remarks that engadget has, they're overly biased against Sony and it shows. Look at the way they talk about microsoft and nintendo problems, then look at what they do to sony.

As for Alex, shut the hell up. If Zelda was made for the Wii then ported, wouldn't that suggest they they just made the same game for a system that was slower than the one they just released? I've seen both versions... the only difference is control.

talk about blindly supporting and not looking deeper
uh, Loban, you need to shut up and look at more of the Wii propaganda spit out by Engadget...

http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/10/nintendo-retracts-promise-of-one-million-wiis-for-us/

They retracted the 1 million Wii for the US, which means that they haven't sold 1 million. if people are going to make bash statements... (look to the article) then let's put all pieces on the board. 360s only have Gears of War to sell systems right now... Viva Pinata really isn't too impressive, just Pokemon you can beat the crap out of. The Halo franchise is about as fun as filling a box with rocks, and those who say otherwise are as dumb as said box.

I agree that "in the pipeline" is vague as hell, but they're not making bold statements. Plus, they're still selling PS2s at a higher rate than the 360 or the Wii. Which means people who are buying systems are saying "Well, I can't get a PS3 right now, the Wii has nothing I'm interested in, and the 360... meh. So i'll buy a PS2." Yes I plan on buying all three, I have a 360 for Gears, which is a great game, short but great. I may buy a Wii for Mario and Metroid, though it is a GC1.5, and as soon as there's a good quantity of PS3s, i'll get one of those.
Sony didn't say they there would be enough units for everyone, they also didn't brag that they wouldn't run out or that supplies would be limited for a while. Nintendo did both.

All Nintendo is doing about the Wiimote issue is selling a glove, while a lot of these are false, there has to be a bit of truth in the problem. Sony fixed their 1080p issue with a patch, a patch that took M$ a long time to fix and is now bricking 360s. I'm not saying that one is better than the other, I'm saying at least give them all equal criticism.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
