I'm a longtime AIM user, but I think Google Talk is the way to go these days. Nobody in their young 20's or younger touches AIM any longer.

When I used it there was no login, worked instantly. I'm guessing it did a browser check for Safari mobile? I had my laptop with me as well which required an AT&T login (in my case my folks' pacbell.net from back home).

Works beautifully on my Sony Ericsson W800i...you know, one of the "dumb phones" this software is MADE for, unlike all the people complaining about the Treo compatibility.
