Personally I can hardly remember the last time I was this excited about a Palm smartphone. Although the company still has much work to do there is no doubt that this is the first major leap forward in years and hopefully a very good indication of more better things to come. Overall the Treo Pro is so good in fact that I will most likely even be making the full jump to Windows Mobile (at least until Palm release their new NOVA OS devices next year).

Cheers, A.
@Robert

LOL I was indeed fooled!

Shame because I would actually really have liked to see a touchscreen-only smartphone like this come out from Palm...

At the same time, my sources continue to indicate that we should expect a new device announcement from Palm very shortly but I guess that it will not be the Centro2...

Cheers, A.
Having the benefit of just a little bit more "insider info" I am rather confident that this is a genuine article and that Palm will soon make this Centro2 available...

Here's my longer take:

In this post: http://blog.treonauts.com/2007/10/treo-800w-first.html one can actually see that the Treo 800w will much more closely resemble the small form factor of the Palm Centro with its full mini QWERTY keyboard and a high resolution square screen.

I was actually lucky enough to hold the new Treo 500 in my hands at the Palm press event today in London and I can tell you that I was VERY impressed by it... Trust me when I say that these images just don't do it proper justice - the device is beautiful, very slick and extremely well built.

Treonauts also has the first part of their Treo 680 review available now... http://blog.treonauts.com/2006/11/palm_treo_680_r.html
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
