Yep, I remember. My excuse was that I had a store buying and selling used (and sometime new) Apple equipment of all kinds, including peripherals. Apples, Macs etc.
While I owned them I got to play with them, update them or just use them for parts. Repair rate was low, I made my money with the Windows stuff, junky and always in need of repair.
I closed shop in 2000, but still now own 4 very recent Macbook Pros, 24" and 30" monitors and an iMac and some other Apple stuff, incl. 3 iPhones. I just feel comfortable having Apple around me. I am not trying to show off, just expressing my preference.
Since I am admittedly Apple addicted (OK, elderly Fanboy nowadays), I have pretty much owned all of their products at one time or another. Never had the Anniversary unit, but a few months ago a came across an external CD player. It was gray and sort of wedge shaped. The stand was removable, but I never got it to work. Which unit was that supposed to go with, I wonder.
When will MIcrosoft realize that Apple is just great and Microsoft will always just be average. Ballmer needs to retire, he really makes things worse for Microsoft.
"C": You must've got up on the wrong side this morning, maybe every morning?
What exactly is wrong with tourist dollars? I am sure the Apple accountants don't care?
If only GM had had more foreign sales, or Ford on Chrysler.
And when were you at Tiffany's last? Were watching the "Breakfast movie" again?
Now it's wrong for Apple users to use Apple provided Wi-Fi, perhaps using Apple equipment bought from Apple stores somewhere? I am sure that you go to Starbuck's, using a Starbuck's Latte? Border's with a Border's book, maybe?
What actually were you doing at an Apple store, anyway? Shouldn't you be lining up for the soon to be Microsoft store? Don't worry, It'll happen, soon, with the Walmart cast-away at the helm. Just you wait, C. Back to bed with you. Dream of Windows.
Would that be: FOLLOW THE LEADER??

It must really look sad and desperate to Microsoft customers, maybe even somewhat embarrassing.
Engadget images sure look like someone has a foot/shoe fetish. The product itself looks well thought out and practical.
I've really tried to find the totally correct area to post this question, but sadly, failed. I have about 100 applications / icons on my iPhone. Is there any way to make / import empty folders, name them and place the individual programs into them, thereby sorting those programs and making them easier to find? Maybe page one could be like an index, where one can chose the next step.
Who thinks (in earnest) that Tiger Woods drives a Buick? Doesn't mean he hates that thing, he just doesn't drive it. This Meyer fellow doesn't hate iPhones, he may even have one, but now he plays with a Blackberry. Next week, who knows. Leave the guy alone. He's young, got money and buys toys. Just like the rest of us. I've got 3 or 4 iPods, an iPhone and yet, I just bought an iPod Touch. Not because it's an Apple (even though most of my stuff is Apple for convenience and ease of use), but because my nephew has promised he can make it into something better. Apple or not (and I trust my nephew). One thing I'd NEVER buy is a Zune. I like Bill Gates and his generosity, but that Ballmer guy is too much of the chart.
Is it the currently prevailing hacker mentality the makes people obsessed with the locked part of the iPhone. One earlier post said it quite adequately. We knew all the rules, boundaries and regulations when we bought the thing and I, for one, was very happy and excited to take mine home and discover its features. I was in the UK when it was released and the day after I got back home I went and bought it. Recently, after the initial upset over the price drop I was quite pleased when the "refund" was announced. We used it as a partial payment for my wife's iPhone. Now we are both quite happy. We have two more months to go with Verizon (@ $89.00 a month) but enjoying the iPhone makes it worth it.
Verizon is so inflexible, so rules oriented,it's unbelievable. We have three lines with them. We got the third line for a special temporary situation. When we asked to take it out of our account, they want $175 each for the 2 x $9.99 family plan premature cancellation as well as $175 for the original line. So I pay two month and then GOOD RIDDANCE after about 20 years with Verizon.

Just enter their store, utter your phone number and your contract is either being renewed or extended for two more years. GREED @ it's worst.
Such petty stuff. Shows how desperate M. Dell is to get any attention of any kind at any price. Childish grand-standing, why? To be taken seriously? Laughable.
So now that Palm is a non-entity and the Zone is Doune, what's going on next? Dell's or HP's?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
