I love how HTC learns what to do by making Android phones, but then has a hard time talking Microsoft into making improvements.
@(Unverified) Web apps are a good idea, so are client apps. Major brands often have both, sometimes the 2 will link to each other some not.

Chrome runs on very limited hardware. Android runs on totally different hardware. Android is good at multitasking, running java, making phone calls, taking pictures, blue tooth, etc. Its ok at javascript.

Chrome OS is good at javascript.
Palm needs to hire anyone and everyone who can help them convert to Android, and then do it.

They can keep the best parts of Palm OS and implement them on top of Android.

Although, if Palm does just completely go under then it can just happen then, whoever ends up owning the rights and brands associated with Palm will inevitably want to re deploy them again in some way, and there will only be more Android models on the market as the time goes by.

Android is just such an incredible cost saver for any OEM. It frees them from having to re invent the wheel with each new handset.
I can't find a MyAccount page to change my password here. Annoyed by that.
I noticed Vudu from google search, quickly easily streaming music for the song I sought. How much must they be paying for those rights?
What's the user interface? Is there a trackball, d-pad or just a touchscreen?
This device screams Needs Android for me. Especially since Pandora and Facebook now have free Android apps. There are advantages to devices designed to be left on all the time and plugged in, and I expect it's speaker is better then most cell phones. If it ran Android I'd want it.
Apple charged ipod touch user's for 1 update
The iPhone is a quality product. But it doesn't have a keyboard, and it's thoroughly locked down. People have been clamoring for good unlocked phones since long before the iPhone.

The iPhone is following pretty much the same business model apple always has. If windows mobile had been better Microsoft had the opportunity dominate the smartphone OS market. It actually did for awhile, it just couldn't stay on top in quality.

Android is a high quality OS. It does have bugs, but right now in it's buggy state, it's delivered the G1, a quality product. The G1, as good a beginning as it is, is still just the beginning.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
