Out of everybody bashing this phone, I'd like to know who has used it?
I have and it is very nice. Also, every review out there has just loved the software. The Russians over at mobile review had it beating out all the following other "music phones": * Nokia 3250 * Samsung X700 * Siemens S75 * Sony Ericsson W800i * Sony Ericsson W810i * Sony Ericsson W900i
Once the APIs are opened up to third party development, it will be very strong competition for symbian and ms. You can tell from motorola's open source site, opensource.motorola.com, that they are heading in this direction.
Although not carried by US carriers, you can get this phone for $300, which is pretty cheap for an unsubsidized handset.
Also, I'd be on the look out for some major phones in 07 from Moto with some very slick hardware and running an update of this software.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
