"Universally panned in both reviews..."

Universal != one Engadget review...hardly even a subset for that matter XD
It's not another app store: this is a boost to the process for symbian developers to get their apps out there. From Symbian point of view, every single app store for symbian apps is relevant, whether it's Nokia's Ovi or Samsung's app store. The idea here, I think, is to help the old developers to focus on their main task and lure new ones...
@Ineed911

Missing the point here?

...and please do :)
Engadget last month: "... and the "Eitri," a monster QWERTY candybar with a 640x350 display and 5-megapixel camera..."

So, I wouldn't say that Engadget got it right...
Well, this is in fact pretty typical pro-iphone stuff: basically telling no news to tackle the bad news.

Yes, intelligent engadget readers do get it right, however, they are too far and between ;)

Stylus is kinda bitchy, but I think in certain kind of applications it's pretty much irreplaceable because of the precision it offers. If a touch UI system only relies on hand operation, it limits the usability of some applications...of course this is obvious when e.g. common operations require stylus operation. So i'd say that in the spirit of mobile computers -idea, the stylus good addition...but it should be an addition to tackle stylus sensitive needs.

Go figure? I guess you need a analogy to see the point:
People who don't like radio adds tend to b**ch about them, especially if when there's train load of coming from the radio.

I propose that Weblogs Inc. makes a applefanboy -newsblog. This 'There might be something perhaps possibly coming your way' type of "news" could be posted there.

...just a thought.
Heh, well the piezoelectric mechanism sounds feasible nevertheless. When OS crashes, you get more battery life ;)
You know, if you're really lucky, with this you could stare 4 beautiful chix(and their cleavages) for the whole flight...but if you're one of those very unlucky sorts, you wouldn't want this :D

On a serious note, there isn't that much for ppl to adjust in this sort of design imho. Although the climb in a take off might be little wicked.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
