oh man.. I'm competing against 74 pages of posts
Any idea what sound will be like? Dolby 5.1? uncompressed? 7.1?

and whats the final word on cost?

Not that any of this matters, I will buy this no matter what.
Nice! My SA8300's gotta be returned to Comcast because its acting up when I watch recordings, but I wanted to pull some content out of it to keep and I'd like to preserve the HD quality wherever possible. This will allow me to do that?
Wait why're you using MB adaptor for a MBP? If you were going to buy a 2nd charger, why not buy a MBP charger? Is it because a MBP charger would be too much for the inverter? (in your case, a 96-watt). What's the drawback of the lesser power MB adaptor when using with a MBP? It powers but doesn't charge also?
Can I buy an unlocked Blackberry 8800 on ebay and use it with T-mobile without any problems? Will GPS work ok?
I just wish we could rename files from within applications instead of just finder (like in Windows). I hate when I'm trying to open or save something, and notice something's misspelled or located where it shouldn't be. I have to make a mental note to come back in finder to fix this, but I always forget.
Yeah, with the whole two finger + click thing on the touchpad to right click, nobody should be allowed to complain about that. I'll tell you the one thing I do wish though.. unless I'm totally missing it.. when I'm opening a file from within an app, I hate that I can't rename or move a file or create a folder from within that finder-ish window. In Windows, you can just right click or do whatever rearranging at any time. I have to make a mental note to come back to this from Normal Finder (which I always forget to do) to fix or add or delete something.
i bought this game a couple weeks back but played it only once. However, now that the Hori Fighting sticks that I got from Wal-mart (of all places - http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5614557 )are arriving today), I'm looking forward to playing it some more.
this video was annoying me. I turned it off 1/2 way through. I'll just wait to see it in the game while I'm playing.

- is that why my Speed Blu-ray disc gives an "error" to my (nothing-impressive) HTIB Panasonic Receiver? I don't get sound once the movie starts.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
