It's about time...will be interesting to see whether they can deliver.

As the mom of a teenager, I know I'm not the main target demographic, but there's gotta be more people like me out there. I have a long bus commute, and the PSP makes it painless. I have been wondering why there aren't more games targeted to women -- RPGs that aren't too convoluted, games with female protagonists, and even games with shiny sparkly things. Lately I've been playing mostly Jeanne d'Arc, Patapon, and Jewel Quest, with the occasional flOw thrown in. Where are the rest of the games for women?
I can't speak for all women, but pink is my favorite color. I'm all over this - not the P!nk version (I just don't want to have to look at her picture on the box), but I can't wait to see the regular pink PSP. I have never been all that interested in the PSP before, but now I'm seriously considering getting one. There is an incredible dearth of products targeted to girl gamers, and I think Sony will clean up on this one.
The "child" in this story was 17 years old. Don't get me wrong, it's awful that this happened, and thank goodness he was able to text-message his SOS. But why did he think a 58-yr-old sheep breeder paid for his plane ticket to a remote Georgia farm?

You are absolutely right about the browser and Java limitations, but the T719 size is not that different from the Pearl. It's just .05 inches longer, .12 inches thicker, and almost half an inch shorter. And, I suspect it will actually ring when it's in one's pocket...
I saw one of these at a T-Mobile store today, and it looks supah cool. The display is gorgeous, the phone feels solid, the keys are backlit in electric blue, and has a BlackBerry heart. It might be a good alternative if they can't fix my BlackBerry Pearl issue (won't ring when it's in my pocket). According to the T-Mo rep, the Samsung T719 is due to launch next week, 9/25/06.
McVan, thank you so much! I ordered the pink V3c online yesterday (the ad said ONLY available online), but after reading your entry, I cancelled that order and ran over to Best Buy for the $149 deal. I had to go throuh 2 tiers of customer service at Verizon to get it done, but saved myself $100. And you were right, it is adorable!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
