I've taken notice of the Glisten as I didn't seriously expect to ever hear from HP again with respect to the mobile device market. That being said I haven't expected for this phone to appear in stores so early. However adding the above impression to what the underlying problem is, namely WinMo 6.5, I'd wish for a more detailed report of the usability facts like IE behavior, System sluggishness, Touch capabilities and such. Not to mention the battery life would be nice as with some WinMo phones 4 hrs is a lot.
Just in time for the holidays Amazon delivers the news that encourage us to buy what everybody wants :-) ... Word up Amazon, you know how to make news. You sure know how to make a great e-book too.
Dear engadget, the founding father of modern computing is noone but Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak! And that is a fact.
@stupidlenovo we have HP and Lenovo in place and for me it just doesn't cut it that the T400S should be priced at the same level as the X301 which is in my opinion a whole different class. Regardless the dirver mismatches and the "no support" treatment. IBM knew that the money wasn't with the hardware but the services so they dumped the unit although it was the best they ever served us with besides mainframe computing.
Doyen or not, it's sadening to see those Lenovo guys waste our time...
SonyEriccson is dead as is Motorola. Anybody remember thier hyped to the max mobile X1. Remember the price? Remember how log it took them to deliver? Now another successor that will hit a vivid marked with no chance to ever make it.
For those of you who struggled with DHL International like me here's a sign of life. DHL Germany wanted to charge me a whopping 66€ on top of the 300 something $ Amazon charged me. Included where 57$ Import Tax and Duties. Thing is DHL can't read! I had to go thru 3 Callcenter Agents 'til I found a decent one that was able to interpret the incoterms DDP means I have free way and no addtl. Fees apply. Now they have to change the bill and hopefully I can open the box some time this week.

Just so you know, when you have paid the deposit, don't let DHL fool you, call them and insist they check the Bill.
anybody remember the moto something that looked exactly like the one above and had a battery life like crap? well too many bad memories there moto for me :-/
you could at the same time spread the rumor that Mercedes will be produced by some korean no name car maker. Let's have a look at this story. First of all Apple was wise enough to choose T-Mobile for the German launch because they have implemented EDGE throught their network like no other telco. Secondly the question is do you need 3G-is connection speed all the time, 24 hrs. a day. In most cases the answer is no. Basic functionality and speed is guaranteed with EDGE. When you need a faster connection simply connect it with your choice of W-Lan and kiss 3G goodbye. The question is does Apple have to implement technology that's not needed for most users? I don't think so, because the product is great as it is. Now looking at the current news why in the hell would they even think about selling this product that I don't see in the pipeline via Vodafone? The company filing a suit against T-Mobile for selling the iPhone in combination with a 24 mth contract. Now really, I don't see that at all. It's always nice to be an Apple user. Attention guaranteed. As the iPhone goes over the counter in Germany for 999EUR as of today I wonder what the price tag would be for the 3G version, 1499? Time for a good laugh...

p.s. I own the iPhone for a week now and I love it, without 3G. I have owned many phones, the last one was a Nokia E65 and guess how many times I have used 3G the last 5 months. Twice. To update the phone.
I preordered mine today and whatever it will cost, I've waited for this pone more than 3 years now, rumors, fake reports. I just can't take it any more, I want the best mobile phone on the planet and I'm sure it will work best with my powerbook G4 because it comes in the tradition of Apple Inc. Hardware. You buy it, you love it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
