I Guess this is lost on me whats the big deal? I mean first I live in China and yea I do have a Chinese lesson in few minutes. All my teachers are commies (really they are)

Anyways looking for a replacement for a recently stolen iPhone but after thinking about going back to WinMo (Used to have a palm, WinMo and Berry) I shudder. I see Android has the hardware to beat the iPhone but what about user interface and apps?

Wow looks like WinMo phones are starting to look promising again. Love my iphone much better than any of my previous WM phones. But I will wait and see for WM 7 to come out. If the new Iphone can't compete I will gladly go back to WM 7. May the best phone win.

I think the Unicom stores in china may already be getting shipments of Iphones in. We were at the E-mart in Tianjin on Sunday. The empty space across the path from the Unicom store had several trucks unloading pallets. The area around the store was taped off and was surrounded by at least 20-25 police. When asked, the police just said they were preparing for some event. But there is no event coming up in that area.

I think everyone is looking at it the wrong way. A watch phone is absolutely the way to go. Imagine if you had a watch phone that allowed you to teether your other devices espacially if it had a couple of radios in it for 2 sims? Then you could use it with your pda (no contract! ie itouch) your laptop, or any other phone that could use it.

For backup if you don't have a headset, phone unit etc. you could just use the watch phone itself.

The multi apps on pre is nice but a jailbroken Iphone can do that too so.
A front facing camera on the iphone would totally rock, but the pre dosen't have this.
Sprint vs ATT. I've had both and I would say sprint has better internet speeds, but less coverage. It's a toss up. With my business discount I pay the same for my ATT plan as I was on my sprint Sero plan.
As far as the pre keyboard, would it be possible to have some very slim addon physical keyboard for the iphone? I had the 6700 and the mogul and the treo and I have gotten used to not having those keyboards.

So for this year I would choose all the iphone apps, the built in storage and the speed over the pre. Maybe next year the new pre would be tempting.

I have had the U810 for about 6 months. I got it with the accessories for around $600 in like new condition. It's a great laptop/tablet. For the dummies (you some of you commentors are idiots) out there Fujitsu has several laptop/tablets. Fujitsu is great in that it provides a wide range of laptops/tablets for a variety of tastes. This for someone who wants a touch screen with more features than a eepc or a netbook and can afford the extra change.

My biggest complaints on the U810 that the U820 doesn't address:

1) lacks the 1024x768 resolution that most programs are expecting to have as minmum resolution. But I guess all the netbook miss that mark.
2) Second it only has VGA out. This is a pain to use with KVI switches that want to have a DVI/HMDI out.
3)No backlit keyboard and the led lights for the keyboard suck.
4) Scroll wheel - this needs a scroll wheel. The up down button are in a bad place and browsing websites is greatly hampared.
5) Processing. This needs a dual atom. If I understand the atom isn't must faster than the U810 CPU
6) Memory - geez 1gb - please this should be 2gb for the premium.
7) 3g - need 3g that supports GSM or CDMA. OR have an express slot instead of CF for using a WImax card

@chase don't be stupid. There are lots of professional that care about these smaller computers. We do real work not play games on them (although I agree it would be nice.).

What is good about this is that it has a reasonable screen a size with a reasonable resolution (this seems the minimum size to run most apps).

Also it has a touch screen and converts into a tablet. So if the battery life is decent (over 5 hrs) and the weight isn't too bad then I think it's great. Basically the Fujitsu p1620 for half the price.

Which is really why this small computer is a big deal. Just like the Eee Pc it is a new pricing structure. It's hard to have Fujitsu justify why their same spec machine is over twice as much. So then the high end machines have to be a whole lot better.

As far as use, have you ever traveled? How about worked in a company where a lot of your time is in meetings? You wanna lug around a laptop all the time? I have the Fujitsu U810. Nice machine and does 90% of what I need on the go.

I almost got the p1620 but figured these were coming out and I would wait.

The touch screen makes these small computers a whole lot more user friendly.

Jose - not true. I use it for both on my WM PDA. Yes you can use the pinyin for both too. However if you don't know what a character is (i.e. don't know the sound) then you have to write it out or know how too look it up by the radical and strokes.

this is good new I guess for Mike Love over at Pleco, should make his job much easier.
