How come I can see the winner getting slapped with a lawsuit by the RIAA?
So will it freeze while asleep like my Windows Mobile phone (HTC Apache), reboot it self like my Zune (already exchanged once), and then get a Ring of Death like an XBox360?

Schweet! I want one!

Seriously though... I do. The Mobile WMP that is on my phone BITES, and I would love to have both the twist interface and the larger screen built in. The XBOX stuff would take a bit more work though. Actually... they could just put in BT drivers for the 360's controllers. And release a mini-version of the controller for use with the phone or a regular XBOX360, say when you go over to a friend's house. .. That would be so great! Would need a fuel cell stuffed in there though, too.
I hear the sound of a thousand executives weeping...

I guess since their thumbs are getting their first break in years, the numbness is wearing off.
I am sooooo signing up to be a census worker.
Gates isn't crowing out about how humanitarian he is or just trying to look good. I mean, with that much money, why would he have to give a darn about anyone else's opinion?

I'm just going to take a wild shot here and say that by being public, he's trying to grab some public attention on the topic and encourage more people to donate their time and effort to good causes.

Plus Gates didn't want to just drop all the money onto other charities. He wants to manage it himself, and set something up that will last far past his lifetime as well. It's difficult to dispute that he knows how to manage things and get good business results, even though I know someone's screaming about how he stole DOS.

Oh, and we know Stevie isn't chippin' in. Tax records can show a lot of things. The RED products seemed more about the publicity than donating to charity.
They should have busted out the PS3 grills and cooked up some steaks. ^_^
You know what?

I'm a pirate.

You know why?

I had a legitimate, full retail copy of XP Home that I installed for a fourth time. I called in for the activation, no problem.

Then WGA came about. And said my system was pirated, even though it wasn't.

So here are my options...

1) I can waste hours and hours dealing with MS tech support, running different bits of software, possibly trying to find a receipt from a few years ago, then repeat every time I have to update something or they change the validation tool. For a piece of software I paid a few hundred dollars for.

2) Pirate

Plus I have gotten a lot of people's old boxes for parts that had OEM XP licenses installed on them. So I figure I've gotten about 10 OEM licenses from other people, one full retail license, and the OEM license on my laptop. 12 licenses for 3 computers should be enough, right?
"I'm afraid I can't let you park there, Dave."
Well, most of us who bought a Zune want to avoid Apple entirely...

Though if someone gets OSX running on a Zune, I wouldn't complain.
Internet, schminternet...
I had to dial-in to a BBS for MY porn. And ASCII art was good enough for us back then. None of this "moving pictures" crap. If I wanted my pictures to move, I shook my screen.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
