It's not the VW mark that dissuades American buyers- it's the level of service & support afforded by 'standard' brands vs the lux brands. I drive a G35 Coupe, and the difference in service level that I get at Infiniti vs. what 350z dealers get at Nissan is staggering. Same with Toyota vs. Lexus and Acura vs. Honda. Try and get decent customer service from a Honda dealer. VW dealers are just not equipped to provide Phaeton dealers with an ownership experience consumate with the price and quality of the vehicle.
Anyone remember Digiscents? The next great thing, back in 2000

If all blogs were of the quality of Engadget, I'd never get any work done! It looks like I'm going to have to start coming into work earlier to get my Engadget Wireless fix... Or, pick up a snazzy new EVDO Treo smartphone, and read their mobile editions in-transit, while slurping on a fruit smoothy.
Ahh... Heaven.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
