Audun is basically on the right track. To understand why Partner resisted providing the service you have to understand the odd, polarized political-religious scene here in some sort of financial terms. Basically, you get x dollars (shekels) for catering to the orthodox market and lose y dollars for the same to those people who out of *principle* will not support a company which "panders" to the religious right.

Of course anyone who isn't pretty right-wing religious thinks the idea is stupid - there are various jokes going around about similarities to Saudi-type practises...anyway the fact is there are all sorts of viewpoints around and the companies will take whatever profits they see - Mirs made the biggest buck by being the first to get "approved" status.

As for bakatron's comment, I'm not sure if sex-lines are blocked, but anyway it's stupid since the biggest "sin" people do with phones are - shock, horror - sins involving speech such as gossip, lying, planning other bad stuff etc...which obviously is not blocked on this phone.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
