Well, AT&T know I have an iPhone 3g because I used to get the texts saying I didn't have the right plan. I called AT&T some time last year and told them I got a new phone and to activate my mms please. I had my sim in the samsung eternity a couple days before I called and they removed the iPhone data plan and anything iPhone related (mms opt out, Vis vmail). I got the $15 mediamax and started receiving the "i need the iPhone data plan" text about December and they suddenly stopped about 3 months ago.

When I updated to 3.0 GM my iPhone I couldn't connect to the Internet, the iPhone said I wasn't subscribed to a data plan. I'm thinking 'oh, shit' no more cheap Internet. When I updated the carrier setting (ATT.ipcc file) to AT&T 5.0 it started working again
AT&T can tell whatever phone u are using on their network. I'm not sure of the specifics but this wasn't always true. It used to be customer info for phone type was only thE last imei changed (new phone, upgrade, customer called it in) but now (maybe it's only 3g) whenever u swap phones it switches in their system. That explains customer being on a mediamax plan with the iPhone would receive the message "you're not an iPhone 3G data plan, blah blah blah". It's true for most phones (I swapped my sim with my old Sony Ericsson z500a and logged into my account and showed up as my device. Then I put my iPhone sim card back and a little while later it switched when I logged back into my accout. Give it a try

I don't know when it started but IM gonna have trouble keeping my plan now

yes, updating your att carrier settings to 5.0 is what makes all the difference. Your tethering will work when you enable it in settings with either bluetooth or USB (usb is faster) and will automatically connect when you plug in the iPhone.

The mms, however, will not work until you either call AT&T and tell them you're a dev to please remove the mms-opt out feature code or go to a store directly. Over the phone may be easier but I've read reports of reps getting a notice to NOT allow this per Apples request until the firmware is officially dropped.

I use the mediamax unlimited plan ($10 because I also have family text) and my mms and tethering both work
This is my 1st howto hope it work for you

itunes 8.20.10 is a prerelease and can also be found via torrents. make sure you find the right one (mac, x86, x64) The reason you need that particular version is that the newer one doesn't allow the "shift-click" menu to change from .ipsw to .ipcc
called apple today, they're shipping me a box to ship them. By the sounds of the apple forums I should be looking forward to a new iPhone. Its only the 4gb but I'm hoping since I was an early adopted they send me the 8gb. I'll report on Friday when I get it back
considering this commercial is rather old... thanks for sticking up for Cingular. Sure, it's taking them longer to roll out their 3g, they already have 3.5g ready for next year,

the "ruggedized" motorola is just a moto v365 which is only semi-rugged PTT phone with vga cam. All in all it's just a moto clam reminiscent of the v400(551, 557) with a heftier keypad. Seen it in action and it's nothing spectacular. More so since Cingular's PTT is not taking off like they hoped it would.

"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
