Don't know about the best but I got my daughter a Lenovo S10 for Xmas and its pretty nice (6 cell battery would be a nice upgrade); 1gb memory, 160gb hd, XP, runs really well.
To start, it's no iphone killer as the iphone is a platform that is
also a phone, the Instinct is a phone with some very good functions
included. I've been using the phone for 2 weeks as a demo on my
Sprint corporate account and will return it before the 30 days mostly
so I can also test out the treo 800W next and then the Touch Pro when
that becomes available. My Centro is very functional for me and I
can live with it for a few more months. That said, most of the
Instinct functions work well to excellent; the GPS with navigation is
excellent; the email app is good, the camera is about as capable as
most phone cameras, and text messaging works very well. I had no
problem with the keyboard other than I've been using a Treo/Centro
for about 4 years now and I'm accustomed to holding the phone and
typing one handed; its responsive and pretty darn error free; my 9
year old uses the phone as much as I do and does pretty well with it
too.

The Instinct falls down more in the media category however, the music
player is a little buggy especially when handling long MP3s (i.e.
podcast). The fast foward bar doesn't hold it's spot and and +/- 15
or 30 second skip button would be a big help. Likewise with the
video player; nothing hugely wrong with it but it seems totally
unintegrated with the rest of the phone (took me a while to figure
out what SIDELOADED meant). The video format support sucks for real,
you have to use the Sprint Media Manager to convert files for the
phone; it took so long to convert a 90 minute movie that I eventually
had to cancel it.

I'm not much of a game player, but I looked at the games on the phone
and nothing really interested me in this category since Solitaire is
not included.

I had no problem syncing with Outlook.

The web browser functioned adequately and probably better than any
other phone (except for the iphone). For EvDo rev A, it does seem a bit slow also.

The battery life is only adequate but probably comparable to other similar devices. My centro sits in a dock all day and charges while I listen to music/podcast/video. Based on the design of the Instinct and the placement of the power connector, it doesn't seem docking was ever a consideration.

Lastly, I hate the button on top of the phone that you need to press
and hold to unlock the phone. It should have been located on the
side of the phone to make it easier to reach and holding it really
isn't necessary.

Overall, I give the phone good marks but a software update (which I
have the check for every day) would be wonderful and even after I
return my demo phone I may take another look at it in a few months.
Honestly, I've had nothing but Sprint phones since the mid-90s and never had any major issue with them, my service always seems to work at home and when I travel. Yes, every time I change my plan (I have 4 phones on a family plan), I know my next bill will be wrong, but it always gets resolved with a little patience. I've heard the same complaint from friends on carriers as well. CS isn't great, although I always get a follow up survey call so I can rate CS, I don't think they're getting the results back to the right people. Most of the people I speak with directly do seem to trying to do their job well. I also control a corporate account with Sprint for 120 lines, CS for that is pretty good but may be handled by a different group. The problem with Sprint is that there is no excitement about them, thier phones are pretty standard and lackluster, they never seem to get the good exclusives and they don't have any must have phones for the younger set (like tmobile has the sidekick, at&t has the iPhone), although my 12 year old loves her Rumor. The whole Nextel intregration really taxed them as well.
I had the exact car I bought new in 88'. Unfortunately, the Turbo on mine gave me a lot of trouble over those years so I sold it in 92'. I've been missing it ever since.
Those first couple of cakes definetly earned thier prizes, but the Enzo crash scene if friggin hysterical!
Today would be a great day to win a phone!
I cant believe its almost over.. I'll miss you pointless comments!
27 down, 3 more to go..
I can't believe I haven't won yet... damn!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
