I was on the preview when they had more content. The star they are referring to is WAY too big FYI. Hope they fix that.
They had some really good stuff, MUCH more variety. I have a nice tux saved, and some much cooler clothes too. I am still wearing pants and boots you can't get now, but I changed to a default top.
Lets just hope the bring 'em back for free.
Jeff, Major Nelson isn't required to do updates on the ups and downs of Live, that's what www.xbox.com/support is for.
There's usually a 6 month lag for GSM phones hitting the USA then having Rogers and or Fido release them here. Take for example the recent HP hw69xx series. Lets hope we're still in for a late Q4 release up here.
The main stumbling block as has been pointed out everywhere is the strong likelyhood that Rogers Co is reluctant to offer unlimited data as AT&T has done in the USA.
I'm hoping Apple helps them see the light and let this happen. Even tho' I'd likely use it more in a WiFi hotspot than on any EDGE network :)
I've always thought that somebody should investigation possible price fixing between Sony and Samsung. Sounds odd, but really, why did the Samsung BD player come out at over 2x the forecasted retail price of the PS3?

It just seems like Sony orchestrated the pricing in order to artificially make the PS3 look like a 'cheap' way to get a BD player in your home.

Yet a comparable HDDVD player by Toshiba came out less than the MSRP of the PS3.

Too much funny business going on with the BD side. I hope HDDVD wins.
360 Rules! XBOX FTW!
Sony's boxes are the fugliest in the world. It doesn't look much better than the Test box Engadget received earlier.
Ya, as mentioned by somebody, Apple's packaging is sexier. Hell, even the Xbox 360 was nicer. So was Wii.
zzz :)
Hey, ya, I saw this in the Best Buy flyer and went right out to get it. $59.99 is a buy one get one free deal. They also have a "buy any 360 game, get Call of Duty2 for C$9.99" so I picked that up as well.
2 games and a year of live for the price of one standard 360 game... I say w00t! :)

SC: DA is really good btw.
GP's and Achievements are fun. I think the idea of working for something, and collecting something is pretty universal.
I enjoy having a destination page to see what I've collected (both on the console and on the web) and compare what I've done to my friends.
I'm 38 yrs old and my 5 yr old son is now getting into it. He gets very excited when he sees that icon pop up while playing Lego Star Wars II :)
I think GP's and achievements are for everybody...
Seriously, the physics is just wrong...its not exaggerated, just plain wrong.
I'm a big fan of all the DOA games, I have them all. I may not buy this one unless I read that the bounce can be controlled, or is otherwised fixed.

It's just plain stupid looking.
Any 'dual format' player would have to have two lasers. One Red, One Blue... sounds expensive and prone to failure to me...
I'm sitting this war out. 480p looks pretty good on my Samsung 50" DLP... but I spend most of my time watching HDTV or Xbox 360 in 720p/1080i.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
