I wouldn't call eBay "random." They own Skype, a very relevant force in mobile telecommunications (particularly if carriers are forced to allow all applications to use their bandwidth).

I understand that YouTube has a number of legal issues that they must iron out. But why would you actively seek to ensure their failure when the public in general has clearly voted with their feet that this is an extremely compelling website?

Why not instead help figure out a way to satisfy both the distributor (YouTube) and the content provider? Not an easy task, but the cat has been let out of the bag at this point and it's not going back in- this level of access to on-demand content is now a part of many peoples lives.
