I second the Sony Alpha's for this reason. I purchased an Alpha A350 last Christmas for my wife and when it came down to features we liked the Alpha the best over Sony, Nikon, Pentax, etc. Like JK said the Sony has VR built into the body so you can purchase older Minolta lenses and have VR for every shot you take. I can see this being especially helpful with a little one on the way and taking low light shots.

Another thing to consider is Sony's excellent Live View. When making the jump from point and shoot, my wife found it especially helpful to use the live view when framing her shots as she didn't always feel comfortable using the viewfinder.

My final thought is that no matter what camera you choose, it will be a winner. The entry level DSLR market is so hot right now that all of the manufacturers are bringing their best stuff to the table.
My reservation doesn't say anything about first come first serve:
"Thanks for reserving your iPhone. You can come to the store you selected anytime on the day of your reservation. When you arrive, talk to a Concierge in an orange shirt. We'll help you complete your purchase, set up your phone, and get off to a great start."
i think they should block the media from reporting on financial doom and gloom....it just spreads panic when they do!
damn dislexia...not a ZR-1 but a ZX-1...no wonder she is so disappointed. She probably thought she was getting to show off the beast and instead got this thing.
That model needs to crack a smile. It almost looks like she has to poop...You're leaning against a ZR-1 lady, most of us would kill to see one let alone touch it!

As for the ZR-1, that kit definitely has a few similarities with the old 550M.
More importantly, why can't Logitech just build BT into their remote? Also a cheap option...
We need to shoot more pirates in the head to pull out of this worldwide economic slump.
Anything Ken Block does is definitely not "Rice." Every mod he makes has a purpose. "Ricey mods" are pointless and gaudy.

Ken Block has more skill in his whiskers than most people dream of having. He has always been about extreme driving skill and doing things most only dream about. Please reference his jumps at the DC Snow sports park or his Gymkhanna(sp?) video.
Is it really that difficult for Logitech and the other universal remote manufacturers to incorporate bluetooth into their universal remotes? I watch more movies on my PS3 than I play games and have been holding off on buying a universal remote to get one that features Bluetooth support. I don't want the Nyko work-around, I want Bluetooth!
I'd like to know what edition that yellow one is as well. I really like the look of that, especially the headlights and wheels. Hopefully it has a turbo?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
