Irrelevant because *you* don't see how they could do it? That attitude is going to keep you on the couch, postin on ur bords. What's not to love about cloud gaming? Someone's going to make it happen. It might as well be the guy who made QuickTime.

I've seen live demos of FPS on PCs and Macs and it works great. One caveat is that you currently have to be within reasonable range of one of their servers to have low latency.
Noli, making some renderings which didn't lead to a direct advisory role does not make Microsoft a progenitor. It's more accurate to say that the film was an opportunity for the actual science advisor to mock up what would become g-speak: http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/14/oblongs-g-speak-the-minority-report-os-brought-to-life/
The hardware is awesome, but the Zune HD makes me watch Nissan commercials when I launch apps. Zune fails.
@chefgon_ign: "Bigger sales = bigger profits" is not the exact formula. More precise would be "sales * margin = profits". With Apple's margin around 30%, selling the MacBook for $700 would mean that they sell it at cost or make it even crappier, which comes at a brand cost. As it is now, Apple can buy Dell and their larger market share in cash.
You don't know how to use tools? You mean, like a screwdriver? Because that's all that's needed.
Even if it's easy, Apple may claim it's a violation of warantee. But in any case, RAM and HD are user-upgradeable, just like before.
Oops! You misspelled '3.1 million last quarter' as 'no one'.
It's been done. This is a cheap imitation of http://www.vimeo.com/6713094
@N900. What Apple tablet is that, that didn't meet your needs? I guess if you can't buy it, it doesn't meet your needs.
It's the fault of whoever thought it was a good idea to use a nuclear warhead to fish.
No thanks. XP Embedded is in my Samsung photo frame, and it manages to consistently crash with a Windows error dialog (yeah, with buttons that I can't click on because it's a freaking photo frame). How can a photo frame fail at doing the one thing it's supposed to do???

Guess Win7 will put some translucency on those error dialogs, wooo.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
