Touch Pro 2... anybody???
You can mod the hell out of it, the HTC skin nicely covers most of WM's failings.
Acceptable size screen, good keyboard and Opera browser.

My touch pro is rock solid.
I'm happy to stick with it till I can get my mits on an HD2.
Have you tried this from HTC to update your ROM?... it is working great for me.

I also found this FREE locker screen that is AMAZING!!!

While I was jonsing for 6.5 previously, now I'm good to wait.

Sure is!!!
If you don't mind paying for what GV gives you free :-/

The will always conjure images of the Thomas Crown Affair... but the spots (more so the 1st) work.
Any chance this will be made available on TiVo powered DirectTV receivers?
I'm on a Sero plan now with a Touch Pro... unlted text & data + 1,250 anytime mins... $49.95/mo.
Seems WinMo handsets are all they are allowing to access it these days... though I would be just fine with an upgrade to the HD2!
Drooling too... and stuck holding a Touch Pro on Sprint.
While vainly looking for a Win 6.5 upgrade, found this official HTC 6.1 ROM Upgrade (to ver. 2.01) on Sprint that was just released Sept 26. (Way to be there HTC! :-/ )
Nonetheless, works great. Contains some nice tweaks and a discernable enhancement in speed as well.

Will hopefully make the wait just a little less excruciating!

Apologies if this is redundant, but I was getting an error message when trying to install.

Turns out my previous application of OneCare Live did not uninstall completely.
This sad state of affairs can be remedied through the use of the OneCare Uninstall Clean-up Tool here:

If I had not come across this solution in the past, I most certainly would have gone mad!

BTW, OneCare cancellations are subject to a prorated refund... so the conversion is just a little bit sweeter still.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
