It is too bad even the best apps are still crap over EDGE or in areas where there is no signal/wifi.
I used iUnlock and tried simfree, on 1.0.2 without ever upgrading. I got an error that my phone was already unlocked. Do I need to upgrade to 1.1.1, brick it, go back to 1.0.2, then retry simfree, then upgrade to 1.1.1 again and jailbrake?

As many have said, you don't need to pay another 100 dollars (actually 60 at most places). Anyone who used this hack in the first place did not have their phones bricked. It was the people who used the open source application that got the bricked iphones.

I am tempted to use this, since they seem to have a solution that doesn't mess up things that apple updates in the firmware. Unless apple intentionally did this since most people used the iphone dev team unlock.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the iphone dev team fixes this and does it the right way this time.
Not being able to check my corporate email on it, so I can actually have a life at home. At least a life outside of work.
That would be awesome, Thanks!

Relient K - For the Moment I Feel Faint
I don't get paying more for new releases. At Best Buy new releases are usually 9.99 - 12.99.

The price and the fact that I can't play it on any of my macs makes me yawn at this.

If they offered something new such as HD quality I may look into it, but I doubt we'll be seeing HD quality downloads anytime soon.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
