I don't think you can apply a blanket rule to the use of GPS for tracking purposes by public sector. For instance, take a high-speed chase that a policeman gets close enough to deploy a tracking tool that adhere's to the side of the car. It is often commented that high-speed chase occurs because of all those police cars chasing them. If an officer gets close enough to deploy one of these trackers, the officer can then backoff and track them electronically. By doing this, officers can, theoretically, eliminate the high-speed aspect of the chase and shop up at the perpetrator's front door later.

While I agree that unabandon tracking of a suspect requires a warrant, I don't think a blanket rule/law to that effect can be created.
Seems a bit obscure - no strumming, only 3-keys and it's all thumbs! Maybe rename it to Thumb Hero. I don't know...I'll wait for more reviews before trying this one out!
So, only 1 other person is going to comment on the fact that the iPhone in the picture looks about 3-4 inches longer than what it really should be?

Did Engadget or AutoBlog distort this picture on purpose?? The iPhone is 2.5" wide by 4.5" long. The photo's looks to be 2.5"W by 7-8" long. Something is seriously wrong here.

Beyond that - I would tend to agree that a car that is adapted for a single-modeled phone for personal settings seems a bit ridiculous. But, I guess if you can afford this LRX, you can afford to go buy an iPhone to dedicate to it.
It's all FREE! How can you pick just one!?
Sign me up....I'll take one!
Current Watch: Casio MT-G G-Shock

It's a nice watch, but, really damn heavy! I think it's about time for a new one!
You all are forgetting the main question... How they hell do they steer?? I know they still have a rudder, but, wind blows north, they aren't going south... unless they rev up the inboard diesels and pull the kite down. Doesn't sound like they're saving that much!
You guys need wind-generators to catch the lakeshore winds off Lake Erie! I bet you could power the "mistake on the lake" and all of New York.
^^^^^^^^^^^(haha - sorry, I'm from Cincy!)
Yea - I did mean QWERTY - just copied the German version instead. I didn't realize the German keyboard was different in this regard. Just swapping the Y and Z makes it german. See, you DO learn something new every day!

thanks!
ha hah...you said GAYLORD.

Sorry - I have never heard of the Gaylord Hotels. Needless to say, I never knew they sponsored a BOWL game.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
