Of course Apple could sell these for $800, they could bloody well sell them for $1000, but that's not the point. At those prices they'd move maybe 100-500k and maybe turn an eventual profit, but those aren't the numbers Apple is looking to move. They want millions of these purchased, and at $800, it'd be almost impossible to reach those kind of sales.

I really consider his "consulting" little more than short-sighted self promotion. I can go around making outrageous statements too, it doesn't make me an expert.
I'm surprised that a very pro-American Sarkozy allowed this to go forward.

That is, if this isn't some sort of silly hoax or comment taken out of context. I mean, if a government doesn't allow certain devices to be used in federal buildings, they're more than within their rights. Using smartphones in a work environment is a privilege, not some inalienable right.
How about you... and your phones... verse me, and The Revolution?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
