I have family members who have a huge HDTV and Satellite TV (along with OTA). They cannot see a difference between HD and SD, so they just Zoom in on the SD, don't subscribe to the HD service from their Satellite Provider, and preferred using the built-in Analog Tuner over the external HD Tuner for their TV. So this is not surprising.
The real problem with the Verizon ads are that they imply that outside of the at&t 3G area, you don't get any service at all. They are also including coverage partners in their map, including those in which the average user would have to pay roaming fees.

Also, I have found that in most rural situations, at&t (and their partners) EDGE speeds to be in excess of 200Kbps.
So now we can have Cardassian Style video communications?
No, they are actually using Windows 7, because of the changes in the Network and Sharing Center, which is where we end up most of the time.
I work in tech support for an ISP, and we already have customers who have purchased new computers, pre loaded with Windows 7.
Couldn't the CDMA settings just be related to W-CDMA used for UMTS/HSPA?
Why do we continue to do business with these people. We need to stop trading with the PRC, stop recognizing them as China, reaffirm that the Republic of China (currently on Taiwan) is the legitimate government, and let them half-life away.
Well, for the most part, Apple is correct. Dell (and most other compter makers) make their computers out of Plastic. Plastic, while recycleable in many cases, changes form each time, and can only be recycled a certain number of times, whereas the Aluminum and Glass in most Apple products, and be recycled a greater number of times, if not ad infinitum.
Actually, 10.5.7 fixed many graphics issues I had on an iMac with the ATI HD2600. Mainly while playing SimCity 4, but it had gotten so bad that I was playing more on my TiBook 667, than the iMac, now I can actually play it with fewer glitches. Now if only Aspyr would get off of their asses and fix their UB of SC4, I'd be happy.
HD-DVRs like the TiVoHD solve all these problems, by allowing you to do whatever you want with the video. Including transferring it to your computer to burn Blu-Ray, DVD, or VCD discs, or transfer to your favorite MP4 video player.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
