The new new version is better.
Umm... what does this have to do with Silverlight? They brought IIS Smooth Streaming to the iPhone, without Silverlight.
holy hell in a handbasket
Seriously, 2880x900 is pathetic at that size and for that price.
Yeah, there's absolutely no porno on the internet. *rolls eyes*

As for hardware acceleration, that's what WebGL is for, and Chrome already supports it.

It seems like everyone is expecting this to compete with major desktop operating systems, in which case you're completely missing the point.
Good! I'm probably getting a Hero for Christmas, so the update should be out by then. Hopefully the 2.0 update doesn't take too long, but I understand why it's going to take a while. Probably won't come out until they release a new phone with 2.0, such as the Dragon/Passion.
The 1080p instant-on streaming rocks, tested it with The Guild and it's so much nicer than needing to wait for it to download. It really is instant, which is no surprise to me since I'm familiar with their Smooth Streaming technology.
Scorpion is not only faster at the same clock speed, it consumes less power as well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
