@Processing The answer to that should be clear: The fact that he's a douche.
@MarcusMaximus: What the hell? How did that comment end up down here?
@ (Unverified): That's not true at all on Android's part. The only regulation that exists at all is for apps in the Android Marketplace(and even there, it's only specific apps that are either A: illegal or B: go directly against the carrier's TOS). Any app at all can be put up on the internet and anyone with any android phone can install it. There is literally 0 control over what any Android app can or can't do.
Woah, the Cliq only has cupcake? That sucks...
Huh? iPhone doesn't have that functionality. In fact, even their paid navigation apps aren't anywhere near as good as this free one.
Damn, ya, I worked for hours to get it working on my fiancee's phone(for some reason hers just would not accept it)
Ya, Google said it would be hard to do, but they never definitively said it wouldn't happen. In fact, from watching cyanogen's progress, the only thing holding it back from getting 2.0 now is that Qualcomm hasn't released the drivers for it.
I pay $75 flat for unlimited minutes, unlimited data and 400 texts per month on T-Mo US.So ya, I'd call $65 for 550 minutes and 1GB of data per month expensive.
@Buis Haha, no, I meant it's pretty scary that that's possible if Google doesn't patch up these holes. Sure, you can do the same kind of stuff on normal Linux, but the fact that Google doesn't give you a straightforward way to choose/change the user password, means the likelihood of someone being able to use this kind of malicious script is very high.
@[Highest Ranked] Indeed it is. I've tried changing it several times(was the first thing I did yesterday when I saw the new system) but no matter what I do, it just won't let me change the pic to anything else. I don't really like this picture anymore, but I guess I'm stuck with it.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
