tom, that made me smile..
Could Android run/install on a device like this easily?
I'm on the Online 30 but i managed to negotiate unlimited data rather than free texts and a £10 discount each month. It would still be good value at £30 though.
Hmm, i have the current iPhone unlocked but still on O2, i get 1000 texts, 600 mins and unlimited data for just £20 a month which is fantastic with the way the current iPhone can be bought and unlocked. I hope the pay-and-go deal will allow me to get hold of the new handset easily and an unlock will become available soon. I'd rather not have to sign up for 18 months and pay £15 more per month for less minutes and texts. 3G data speeds would make up for the lack of included WiFi..
It's rather like the Leica M8 but with a 1.6x crop factor rather than 1.33x of the Leica and a price of around $5000 less..
A wireless moooose would be nice..
I think a major reason for the flash over the HDD in the Touch is interface speed. I was playing with the iPod Classic and the coverflow view just isn't smooth enough, yet the Touch and the Nano were both excellent. I'd put that down to seek times when it comes to loading the album artwork. I guess a nice compromise would be to have the 160gb HDD and then have the artwork and OS loaded on 1GB (or so..) of flash memory.
160gb HDD.
O2 currently charge me 3 (roughly 6USD) per megabyte of data. I'm guessing they're going to either reduce the current tariff significantly or switch to unlimited data for the iPhone to allow anyone to use the device anywhere near its full capabilities.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
