jailbreak solves most those problems. I second the coverflow off switch, I hate that!
Also, make the multiple notifications for texts optional, that was the dumbest addition to the software! How hard would it have been to add an option??
The News In Print link doesn't work.
Yes, 64 bit SMP all that jazz
If you bought after Sept. 1st you can upgrade for free. They'll send you an upgrade key sometime today probably.
I am using the free trial, but want to cancel. I'm scared to, though, because it is backing up my contacts. Is there an easy way to backup all my iphone's contacts that are right now 'in the cloud?' If I could move them from mobileme to outlook (damn windows!) I would've cancelled already. Not nearly enough features, and those that it has don't work right. That would be fine if it was free, but it's not.
Pageonce is pretty awesome for this. Except they just added ads to it...
NONONONONO!
How about an OPTION to do all of that?!? I freakin' hate the persistent reminders, they are the bane of m'iPhone's existence!!
Ask TUAW:

I have been trying to figure this out for sometime: I have been using a trial version of MobileMe since its debut, but am not sold. I think mobileme is decent, though not nearly worth the $99 when yahoo has done me so well for free.
Trouble is, now my contacts and calendar are synced to my iPhone (m'iPhone?) via mobileme, and my previous backup in outlook is no longer current. Is there a way to backup mobileme contacts back to my outlook? Whenever I consider dropping the mobileme account I get a scary warning that I'll lose all the contacts from my phone. Luckily I have a couple more months to figure this out.
I'm using XP and outlook 2003. I know, I know, I'm getting an iMac as soon as I can, promise!! Thanks in advance for your help!
I gotta disagree; jailbreaking is just as important now as before. Apple has dumber down the SDK and capabilities far too much, and the jailbreak community is not hindered in any way. I hope they pick up the pace and perhaps get some investment money so we can see some real exciting stuff
I work for Parallels: The auto-update will pick up 5608 on Monday. Not sure why, but it's on the website.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
