I can see it now:

TSA: "Please remove the battery from your phone."
Traveler: "I can't, it's an iPhone."
TSA: "It's a cell phone, it must have a battery compartment."
Traveler: "Apple didn't make the battery replacable in the iPhone."
TSA: "I don't believe you, we're going to have to detain you until a supervisor arrives."

Just like when the MacBook air came out with the solid state drives...

Enjoy!
This is actually very interesting for Vermont. Verizon has always had great coverage in the major cities, but disappointing coverage in most of the state. Unicel has always had great coverage, but they're local, so their nationwide plans were somewhat iffy. I would have expected them to be bought by AT&T giving them an immediate presence in Vermont. Instead all the Unicel customers will be converted over to CDMA, having to replace the hardware they have. If they add CDMA to all the existing towers that Unicel has we'll finally have decent coverage in Vermont!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
