What is seach??
Because the 3G's were sold out everywhere. I was 'prequalified' and could stay in line. The guy that bought man had been rejected by the Apple police and AT&T was sold out at the time. He just wanted an iPhone and said "how much for your old one?"
Sold my v.1 for $300 cash while standing in line for a new one. Did a secure erase and handed it over. That IS quick!

me three. I did an early upgrade yesterday and my phone was crashing a lot so I figured I'd do an erase this morning and clean install with the official 2.0. That was before I read the blogs - I am stuck in 'new out of box' mode and everytime I plug into iTunes I get an 'unknown error -9838'. Greeaaat!

Also, the iTunes download page (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) is missing it's download links. hmmm.
TUAW are you running out of stuff to talk about? useless post. My comment was just as useless ;)
"Cell Tower" Positioning is better than WiFi (Skyhook, Navizon). Look up TDOA. It is the predecessor to A-GPS and what AT&T is currently using to be FCC compliant. Accuracy ranges from 3m-30,000m depending on site density, terrain, etc. etc. GPS's are installed at cellsites but get they your location via timing. GPS is only reference.
@Me.com is awful. nothing more to say.
I was hoping since it was a release from Samsung, that it would be provider unlocked. Not the case :(
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
