Noted about the price, we were speaking of two different things though. I was mostly interested in the phone plans than the USB card plans. It makes more sense for me to use my phone to tether (I don't have to pay anything extra with the programs that are in the Mogul out of the box).
Don't insult my education, I remain respectful to those that treat with respect, but you seem to do otherwise.
Still cheaper to stay with Sprint than with any of the other carriers, even with the data cap. It is however sad that Sprint didn't have the marbles to not cap its service.
@Dave:
Yes Sprint has been changing a lot within the last couple of years. Is it the best? Hell no, not even a close third. Regular customer service is arse, and call quality varies based on what device you have, as well as other factors such as buildings and terrain. I've had Sprint, AT&T and VZW all within the last two years, and I have to say they are all pretty much the same as far as call quality (mostly Midwest; IL, WI, MN, IN, MI, IA, SD, ND, NE) what it really comes down to is customer service, phones available, and price. If you know the not so secret $30 Sprint plan and the not so secret Exec Customer Service number, then Sprint becomes a viable option (just don't roam more than 800 minutes in 6 consecutive months) , AT&T has hands down the best phones available (but you'll get the boot for roaming too much, 50%+ of your anytime minutes in two consecutive months, and the have some restrictions in their data plans), and VZW, well they do have a great network but they are slow in getting the phones out and you'll probably end up paying more than you should for service (5GB cap, although they will never kick you off for roaming too much).
Not an odd quote at all, of course it depends who you are making the ad available to. I find it humorous and entertaining, will the Instinct actually sell like hot cakes with crack...who knows; that a tall order to fill. It is my understanding that a lot of thought goes into where, when, why and how an ad is placed and made available to the public (this is becoming more and more insignificant with the Internet; shows how old the Sprint Marketing Team is no?), and there is a reason that they chose that specific quote, my guess is that they thought it got the message across and it was catchy making you think about it long after you have finished reading it. Plus, how many people that read Wired are actually going to be insulted by this ad? If the percentage that gets insulted causes minimal damage for a better output then it was well worth it in the eyes of the marketing team.
browsing pr0n...I mean...no, that's what I meant.
Yeah I got the point, I wasn't mocking you...
Oh my...the world...it's IMPLODING!

But it's true, use the carriers that best suits your needs. For me that would be...gasp...Sprint SERO...
insert sound effects of Earth imploding due to the concept Matt has brought forth.
Yes, Sprint does suck, and it is loosing customers in a way only they could...BUT...the network is not the reason! It gets old when people bash a company not knowing what is really going on. The problem with Sprint is not it's network, which can be said to have the best data network available nationwide (unless you live in an AT&T 3G which is still not that reliable as far as speeds, right? some one correct me if I'm wrong) , and voice coverage is on par with what most carriers have; yes everyone will have different experiences, but it still can be taken for granted that Sprint does have decent coverage.
The reason that Sprint is not a "quality competitor" is because Sprint has gotten such a bad reputation (by it's own doing) that it is going to take a long time for them to gain marketshare back and to change the publics perception of them. Similar to the American cars and the Asian imports, American cars are improving in quality, yet because of their reputation they are still being undervalued by the public, and will continue to be scrutinized more than Asian imports.
BTW I agree Sprint is not a competitor, but not because of the network, rather because they just screwed themselves over not having decent CS and Billing Dept.
Sprint also refers to their Touch as the PPC6900, but it is not marketed as such. I don't know the exact reasoning for this though.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
