The real question is: What happened to the 3D?
This poll is missing a "Hell No" option. I'm sticking with the iPhone. The Pre has no chance of being a better offering. Period.
That's just it, it isn't a big deal. This is just a new product release in this market segment. Some people (like myself) enjoy hearing about new products, though. Welcome to the world of gadget blogs.
It's not bad at all....until you find a good electrician that will install Cat-5e for less $$$. And there are plenty of electricians needing work around here these days.
This post would have seemed more prescient had the NYT not announced 5 minutes prior to the original posting that a breakup was in the works.
I'm just pissed that my 2G iPhone can't find my location as accurately now that 2.0 is out. It's like they're trying to force me to upgrade to the 3G phone just to make Google Maps work properly again. That's just plain evil.
Sure, the prez isn't going to be an expert on technology, but I'm thinking that he at least needs a basic understanding. And by that, I think he should know how to get in front of a PC and send some email. Hitting up Yahoo or Google would be nice, too. And that's it. Just the basics. I can't get behind a candidate who doesn't have that down in today's world.
Mark, you may not be trying to call out either candidate on this, but it needs to be done. The way presidential campaigns are run is dishonorable, to say the least. What a huge difference it could make in the lives of kids if these people could be the real role models instead of power-hungry swine.
I think tech discussions, like most things, are cyclical. They're still going on, but they're not quite as mainstream right now as they have been at other times. Just give it a few years: they'll be back.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
