Was it ever coming in August? +1 for GSM in Australia!
1: You can now use CalDAV support to wirelessly synchronise with Google calendar natively in 3.0

2,3,4,5: You can already jailbreak 3.0 beta2 if you choose to (google quickpwn). It works flawlessly even if the dev team are choosing not to release their "official" solution until the final 3.0 release - it's based on the same exploit, and using the same software to exploit it as the dev team would...
Telstra's main 3G network - confusingly marketed as "NextG" - runs at 850MHz on a faster and larger scale than Optus's 2100MHz one which only works near major centres (when it works at all).

So Telstra aren't going to be interested in a 2100MHz device at this stage, even if it does mean not bringing out the first Android device.

Did I mention we still don't have Rock Band 2 here yet? The land down under is sometimes slow to adopt.
Wow... for such a small fix, it sure took a long time to install!

Can't notice anything except that now my media extender just hangs with a neverending circle icon... yay!
Hmm... maybe a guarantee that my mac won't be outdated the day after I get my cheap copy of office when Steve takes to the stage on the 9th September?
It would look nicer if the screen were enlarged out to the larger line etched around the inside of the bezel. As it is, that kind of looks as though it's there so a larger screen could be fitted to the same chassis in future - just need to move the webcam up above it and get those pesky speakers out of the way below the current screen.
Can any of the people who've tried this (including Engadget!) let us know the details of how their phones were unlocked and whether the unlock persisted?

I'm using a TurboSIM which is fairly resilient to upgrades, but I heard that 1.1.3 stopped it working - I'm not sure if my phone will remain unlocked if I perform this jailbreak?
it will. I haven't tried it but I read the way it works. It flashes your phone with a modified 1.1.3 image. your settings and music will be intact, and installer.app is pre-installed onto the image so you'll still have that. But all your other apps will be gone
Yes... interesting that the credits at the end list the music as "Nirvana - Smells like teen spirit". I remember that song sounding somewhat better!

And I love that they wrote "béta" tester, makes it sounds very exotic indeed.

Having said all that, I still want this app if it works well enough, there are plenty of games on the SNES you could play with iPhone controls - just avoid the high-action ones.
I hear you man... cringeworthy
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
