I'm looking forward to the day when Bill Gates is on his hands and knees, begging Steve Jobs for an iPhone. Then when he has a copy, he'll tweak it a bit, call it an msPhone, and claim his msPhone was an original that was in the works for several years BEFORE the iPhone.
This is our Newton-o-leo.
Anyone get the 8830 with the SIM Card? Verizon is saying that the SIM Card is only needed when traveling outside the USA.
Regarding the SIM Card costs -- I'm getting the run-around from Verizon -- the in-store people say that the SIM Card costs around $40, and you'll pay an additional $14/month for the internation phone+e-mail capabilities. The telephone customer service people say that the SIM Card costs $10 and you have to put a $300 deposit, with no addtional monthly service fee. What the ****? Someone please enlighten me...
Also, I was told the unlimited data service, which is originally $30/month, has increased to $45/month. Whoa!
Thanks for the review. I've been eagerly awaiting the public release of the BB 8830 and now I'm glad it has arrived. I will get the BB 8830 within the next few days and my Treo 700w will go up for sale on eBay a few days later...lol.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
