As if we needed any more signs of where Research in Motion was heading in terms of its 2011 device line, we've just caught wind of yet <em>another</em> touchscreen-equipped Berry. The BlackBerry "Orlando" is purported to be a variation of the <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/curve?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Curve</a> with touch capabilities, already being described as a mini <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/tag/bold touch?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Bold Touch</a>. This yet again begs the question of why exactly RIM has so many different devices planned, especially when the spec differences are so minor. We wish the company would deviate from this approach it has relied on for years, but it seems to be more focused on its tablet strategy than it is on pushing the envelope with phones. Additionally, it could just mean that <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/tag/bb6?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">BB6</a> might be sticking around for a while and that RIM wants its users to get acclimated, or perhaps that it might take a little longer than we think for QNX to trickle down from the <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/playbook?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">PlayBook</a>.

We've heard about a good number of these phones were bound for Verizon Wireless already, but if this leaked doc via <em>Boy Genius Report</em> is to be believed, we now have a much better idea when they should be within reach of consumer hands. First up is <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/16/verizon-ponies-up-to-google-for-premature-samsung-rogue-ad/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Samsung Rogue</a> for sometime this month (we <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/08/lg-chocolate-touch-and-samsung-omnia-2-slated-for-august-23rd-a/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">previously heard today</a>, but that's looking very doubtful at this point) for an estimated $370 subsidized. Next on the calendar is the "female centric" Nokia Twist 7705 in late September for $230, which more likely than not is the swiveling device we've seen on <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/14/nokias-swiveling-wonder-for-verizon-passes-fcc/ ?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">two prior</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/13/nokia-making-a-crazy-sidekick-esque-phone-for-verizon/ ?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">occasions</a>. Also due out next month is the Samsung <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Intensity/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Intensity</a> for $130 (screenshot after the break). LG Chocolate Touch was rumored by Best Buy for today, but here it's listed for an October debut, along with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Storm2/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Storm 2</a>, a "low cost QWERTY" HTC Razzle / Blitz 2 (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/27/htcs-xv6175-for-verizon-outed-in-render-form/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">XV6175</a>, perhaps?), and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/MotorolaSholes/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Motorola Sholes</a> "Google Phone," <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/31/motorola-sholes-android-phone-for-verizon-appears-in-the-flesh/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">red D-pad</a> likely in tow, all with TBD price tags. The first one expected for public is the Rogue, replacing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/11/samsungs-e-ink-texting-alias-2-now-on-sale-at-verizon-wireless/?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Alias 2</a> that just launched back in May. So <em>Boy Genius Report</em> reported on a shot of what seems to be a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/8900?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">Curve 8900</a> running on AT&amp;T -- which seems like a pretty good idea, may we add -- and we're trying to make sense of what's really going on. We hit up RIM's booth at <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/CES2009?utm_source=Feed_Classic&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Engadget">CES</a> to get the lowdown on the situation, and what do you know, the mythical beast is nowhere to be found. The reps on the floor said that it's only for T-Mobile and when we checked every 8900 on the show floor, we couldn't find one running on any other carrier. 'Course, we'd be shocked if RIM wasn't chronically refreshing <em>BGR</em> every fifteen seconds, so it's entirely possible that they saw the news, realized their grave error, and pulled the offending phone posthaste.
