We don't know how this one slipped past us, but somewhere in the past few weeks (on October 19th as far as we can tell), HP and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Palm/">Palm</a>'s logos got together to form what you see to the left: the HP Palm logo. The new, hybrid logo is on both Palm's website and Facebook page, so this should quell any fears that the world might <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/22/hp-ceo-palm-could-end-up-a-sub-brand-of-the-company/">lose Palm's branding all together</a>. We don't know what you think of the new logo -- personally, we were a little partial to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/29/hp-and-palm-what-happens-next/">our own mock up</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/28/hp-palm-quietly-debuts-new-hp-palm-logo/">HP Palm quietly debuts new HP Palm logo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 28 Oct 2010 09:43:00 EST. If you've been kept awake at night wondering when the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/01/hp-unleashes-envy-17-3d-hp-envy-14-beats-edition-and-specially/">HP Envy 17 3D laptop</a> would finally be available for purchase, well you'll have sweet dreams tonight. HP's officially thrown this bad boy up on its website for all those out there whose laptops are just too... two dimensional. If you've forgotten, the Envy 17 3D boasts a 17.3-inch 3D Ultra BrightView display, packs AMD's 3D tech, and it comes with active shutter glasses. Specwise, you get a choice of Intel Core i7 processors, ATI Mobility Radeon graphics, a wide range of hard drive options and Windows 7 operating systems. The base configuration comes with a $1,599 price tag. In other HP availability news, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/01/hp-wireless-tv-connect-streams-1080p-video-picks-up-where-intel/">Wireless TV Connect </a>device, which will stream 1080p video from your laptop to your HDTV, is also up for order for $199.99. Hit up the source link if you're ready to start shopping.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/27/hp-envy-17-3d-laptop-now-available-starting-at-1599/">HP Envy 17 3D laptop now available starting at $1599</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 27 Oct 2010 12:21:00 EST. Since today really needs a good heap of news to somewhat balance out <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/17/dells-2000-adamo-xps-launching-october-22-with-heat-sensing-op/">yesterday's</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/17/verizons-anti-iphone-gets-its-first-commercial-droid-does/">glut</a>, HP has updated its online store to give it an abundance of new and revised <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Windows7/">Windows 7</a> machines, including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Envy/">Envy</a> series (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/18/hp-and-dr-dre-team-up-to-shill-a-limited-edition-envy-15/">Beats edition</a> and all), Pavilion <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dm3/">dm3</a> with AMD Neo or Intel CULV chips, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Corei7/">Core i7</a>-packing dv6t/ dv7t / <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/dv8">dv8t</a> Quad editions, and the not-so-netbook <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/13/compaq-cq61-does-15-6-inch-screen-and-real-processor-for-399/">CQ61</a>. We're still not seeing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/28/touchscreen-hp-pavilion-dv3-leaks-out-brings-dm1-ultraportable/">previously-leaked dm1</a> ultraportable anywhere, but the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Mini311/">Mini 311</a> and a slightly updated Mini 110 are, with the option to jump from Windows XP to 7 for a cool $50 / $30 respectively. Most everything in the store, desktops and laptops, has been updated to at least include Windows 7 as the standard shipping OS, and while all claim free 2-day shipping, estimated shipping dates begin sometime the week after 7's Oct 22nd launch -- no early chances here, folks. Browse the read links and keep an eye on the shiny red "new" icons (no flashing GIFs, we're afraid) for the entire revised lineup.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>As a number of you have pointed, the Envy product page is a bit, well, sloppy. Typos and missing commas notwithstanding, it seems to biggest laugh is the cost of customization, i.e. $800 more to <em>downgrade</em> from a 500GB HDD to 320GB or 250GB (same price), or $900 more to downgrade from 6GB or 4GB of DDR3 memory. Yeah, it might be best to hold off on that one until HP get the kinks worked out.<br />

As if on cue, here's some new data research firm Gartner lending credence to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/acer-well-overtake-dell-as-worlds-number-two-pc-maker-soon/">Lanci's boasting</a>. Looks like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Acer/">Acer</a> has leapfrogged over Dell for the number two spot in global market share for the third quarter of 2009, from 12.5 to 15.4 percent of the Big Pie Chart[TM]. Meanwhile Dell is just below at 12.8 percent, and HP is sitting happily atop with a 19.9 percent ownership. <br />
<br />
<strong>Update</strong>: Let us adjust our glasses a bit. According to the charts, Acer is number two in <em>worldwide </em>PC sales, not in US as this previously reported. Stateside, the company is sitting at number three at 13.9 percent, behind HP (25.7 percent) and Dell (26.2 percent). Apologies for the confusion, the person responsible for eyesight has been subsequently sacked, the person responsible for the sacking has been sacked, etc.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/14/acer-partially-fulfills-prophecy-overtakes-dell-as-number-two-p/">Acer fulfills prophecy, overtakes Dell as number two PC maker worldwide (update)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 Oct 2009 20:14:00 EST. Microsoft's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/windowsmobile6.5">Windows Mobile 6.5</a> release is just a month away, and so too are the first phones that will utilize it. <em>Boy Genius Report</em> has managed to get its hands on one slide from a recent AT&amp;T concall confirming a partial list of the handsets set to ship with the new, improved, more finger-friendly flavor of the OS, and even a few models that will be upgraded to it. Two from Samsung, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/epix">Epix</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/14/samsung-jack-comes-to-atandt-on-may-19-99-99-on-contract/">Jack</a>, will receive version updates in October, while HP's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/hp,obsidian">Obsidian</a>, earlier targeted for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/24/hp-triumphantly-returns-to-atandt-with-ipaq-k3-obsidian/">November</a>, seems to have been pushed back to December, and LG's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/lg,monaco">Monaco</a> similarly has slipped to November. HTC's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/htc,fortress">Fortress</a> (a.k.a. the Pro2), however, will apparently be ready with bells on next month. As will we, dear readers. Despite the infamous logo and hot red lid, Acer's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/10/amd-tigris-and-congo-mobile-platforms-focus-on-multimedia-longe/">Congo</a>-based <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/10/acers-11-6-inch-ferrari-one-finally-a-netbook-with-speed/">Ferrari One</a> "ultrathin notebook" (read: netbook) managed to blend in rather well among a number of other laptops (at least 15, by our count) on display at AMD's VISION event yesterday. The chassis felt pretty sturdy and the keys had the right amount of bounce... and we'd love to tell you more, but like all but a handful of portables on display, it was resolved to play the same video over and over again, refusing to acknowledge our key-pressed directives. We also decided to take snapshots of the entire display lineup, although more than a few here are previously-seen models -- it was pretty much <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/10/amd-announces-vision-guide-to-buying-pcs/">just a rebranding</a>, after all. See them all for yourself in the galleries below!<br />

Sure, we could beat around the bush and say, "well, the test report calls it an iPAQ and it's got both GSM and HSPA on the 850 and 1900MHz bands, so it's probably headed to AT&amp;T" -- but let's cut to the chase for once, shall we? Despite much of the documentation still falling under confidentiality, HP's latest phone has "AT&amp;T SKU" written right on its publicly-available ID label, so that pretty much settles that. Interestingly, the documentation repeatedly refers to the new WinMo-powered handset as the "iPAQ KB1," but we have every reason to believe this is the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/24/hp-ipaq-k3-obsidian-lives-it-up-in-the-wild-sneaks-in-a-stylus/">K3 Obsidian</a> that's been floating around for a while now. To be fair, we don't know whether that's a go-to-market name -- nor do we know the price or launch date, for that matter -- whatever it's called, we can now take comfort in the knowledge that it'll be 100 percent legal to use on American soil.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/01/hps-ipaq-k3-obsidian-gets-fcc-approval-enroute-to-atandt/">HP's iPAQ K3 Obsidian gets FCC approval enroute to AT&amp;T</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 14:06:00 EST. There's always been a little chunk of softness in our cold, stone hearts for candybar QWERTY handsets. Stylus interaction? Not so much. That's why it's a little disappointing to see HP's upcoming <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/24/hp-triumphantly-returns-to-atandt-with-ipaq-k3-obsidian/">iPAQ K3 Obsidian handset</a> for AT&amp;T show up with a stylus on board, despite the initial leaked documents we saw that clearly stated otherwise. Still, it's nice to see how Windows Mobile 6.5 can operate under such conditions, and the 2.43-inch screen <em>is</em> OLED, even if it's restricted to a mere QVGA resolution. It appears that a scroll wheel does the duty of shuffling through that honeycomb menu. As far as we know, we're still looking at a November release.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.slashgear.com/hp-ipaq-k3-obsidian-caught-in-wild-with-att-branding-2450250/">SlashGear</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/24/hp-ipaq-k3-obsidian-lives-it-up-in-the-wild-sneaks-in-a-stylus/">HP iPAQ K3 Obsidian lives it up in the wild, sneaks in a stylus for the nostalgic types</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 24 Jul 2009 10:10:00 EST. Tears well up in our eyes when we think back to the early days of Windows Mobile and HP's dominance; in recent years, the company has all but vanished from the scene, trudging along with a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ipaq">handful of poorly-marketed, underexposed devices</a> that haven't launched on any US carrier. Turns out we haven't said our last goodbyes, though, because the iPAQ K3 -- codenamed "Obsidian," seemingly -- is scheduled for November 30 retail availability on AT&amp;T. The device would launch with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/windowsmobile6.5">Windows Mobile 6.5</a> onboard and feature a 2 megapixel camera (a second cameraless version for high-security businessfolk might be available, too), 256MB of RAM, a half gig of ROM, microSD slot, GPS, triband HSDPA and quadband EDGE, WiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a QVGA display to complement the full QWERTY keyboard. Looks like it won't be the most exciting smartphone on the carrier's shelves, but it might be a sensible choice for businesses and really, really boring people. Follow the break for a couple renders of the phone in action-packed angle shots!<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/24/hp-triumphantly-returns-to-atandt-with-ipaq-k3-obsidian/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HP triumphantly returns to AT&amp;T with iPAQ K3 "Obsidian"</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/features/" rel="tag">Features</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/atandt/" rel="tag">ATT</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/24/hp-triumphantly-returns-to-atandt-with-ipaq-k3-obsidian/">HP triumphantly returns to AT&amp;T with iPAQ K3 "Obsidian"</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 24 May 2009 18:23:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Peter Brett, not happy to simply bide his time on the daily commute with his <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Kindle/">Kindle</a>, set about intead writing his own, on his <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/iPaq/">iPaq</a> smartphone. The trips between his home in Brooklyn and his work in Times Square were about 45 minutes, or, about 400 words each way. Over the course of two years, his 100,000 word novel took shape and is now in print, and apparently a bestseller in Poland and England. We've seen something similar in the past, but that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/24/author-taps-out-384-page-book-using-mobile/">384-page</a> effort pales in comparison, and content aside, he should give himself a pat on the back and a big glossy sticker for effort. Here's hoping HP catches wind and ponies up a new set to replace his current and most likely fairly worn device.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.switched.com/2009/04/23/man-writes-400-page-novel-on-cell-phone/">Switched</a>]</div>

No big surprises here -- <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/HP/">HP</a>'s announced for <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/WindowsMobile65/">Windows Mobile 6.5</a> for its future devices, confirming what we already knew: HP is awesome. The company cites WinMo 6.5's "key enhancements to business productivity, personal messaging and mobile Internet capabilities" plus its "new visual appeal" as some of the reasons for its continued love of the OS. We don't have any specific information about upcoming Windows-boasting devices, but we'll let you know as soon as we catch sight of one or more -- because we're here for you. Full press release after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&amp;t=news&amp;id=6905">Pocketnow</a>]<br /></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/21/hp-confirms-support-for-windows-mobile-6-5/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HP confirms support for Windows Mobile 6.5</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/software/" rel="tag">Software</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/21/hp-confirms-support-for-windows-mobile-6-5/">HP confirms support for Windows Mobile 6.5</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 21 Feb 2009 08:10:00 EST. Definitely falling into that "and beyond" category would be MySpace, which pledged its support presumably to get its tentacles deep inside the Symbian codebase -- a wise move considering the obvious trend toward mobile social networking. Also notable are the additions of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/HP/">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a>, GPS chipset maker <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/SiRF/">SiRF</a>, and SanDisk. About the only thing left for the group to do now is deliver on its platform promises by pumping out some phones through its partners -- and can you just imagine an S60-based HP phone?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/symbian/" rel="tag">Symbian</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/13/symbian-foundation-keeps-on-rolling-with-14-new-members/">Symbian Foundation keeps on rolling with 14 new members</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 13 Feb 2009 03:21:00 EST. If you've been holding off on picking up a new WinMo handset on Rogers, today just might be your lucky day. You know, if you're totally in love with HP's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/10/rogers-q3-lineup-revealed/">iPAQ 910c Business Manager</a>. Said Canadian carrier is offering up this here phone for $249.99 (down from $399.99) on a 3-year contract, but for those who despise red tape, you can snag it off-contract for $499.99. As for specs, it sports Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, built-in GPS, WiFi, a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 resolution touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, a microSD card slot, three megapixel camera (with video recording possibilities) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. So, is it business time, or what?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.intomobile.com/2009/02/06/its-business-time-rogers-launches-hp-ipaq-910-business-manager.html">IntoMobile</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/rogers-wireless/" rel="tag">Rogers Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/06/rogers-offers-up-hps-ipaq-910c-business-manager-for-249-99/">Rogers offers up HP's iPAQ 910c Business Manager for $249.99</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 06 Feb 2009 17:22:00 EST. In reality, HP should've made sure that its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/21/hps-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-get-official-on-vodaf/">iPAQ Data Messenger</a> shipped alongside the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/04/hps-ipaq-voice-messenger-on-sale-on-vodafone-uk/">Voice Messenger</a> back in December, but given that it didn't, we suppose it's a small victory that the handset is finally up for pre-order in the UK today. Of course, getting any halfway intelligent Briton to spend &pound;419 ($593) on this already forgotten WinMo 6.1 device (with Mobile World Congress just weeks away, no less) is a challenge we're thrilled to not be responsible for. <br /><br />[Thanks, Lester]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/vodafone/" rel="tag">Vodafone</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/27/hps-ipaq-data-messenger-finally-up-for-pre-order/">HP's iPAQ Data Messenger finally up for pre-order</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 27 Jan 2009 11:16:00 EST. Given that both the iPAQ Data Messenger and Voice Messenger were spotted on HP's website <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/20/hp-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-handhelds-emerge/">last night</a>, we didn't exactly need a press release to affirm their ascent into officialdom, but hey, we'll take it. The two WinMo 6.1-powered handsets will soon be loosed on Vodafone in Europe, and starting next month, prospective consumers can buy in for &pound;399 ($677) / &pound;333 ($565) off-contract; as for the subsidized rates, you'll have to hold your horses for those. If you're just interested in the hands-on video, however, you can mosey on beyond the break and mash play.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/21/hps-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-get-official-on-vodaf/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HP's iPAQ Data Messenger / Voice Messenger get official on Vodafone, hands-on treatment</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/vodafone/" rel="tag">Vodafone</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/21/hps-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-get-official-on-vodaf/">HP's iPAQ Data Messenger / Voice Messenger get official on Vodafone, hands-on treatment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 21 Oct 2008 12:10:00 EST. Looks like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/03/hp-said-to-be-prepping-consumer-minded-ipaq-smartphone/">that rumor</a> was mostly spot on, as two new consumer-minded <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/iPAQ/">iPAQ</a> handhelds have emerged on HP's website. Without much fanfare, the Windows Mobile 6.1-powered iPAQ Data Messenger and Voice Messenger have been granted dedicated sites, complete with imagery, specifications and recommended accessories. Starting with the touchscreen-heavy Data Messenger (seen above), you'll find a 2.81-inch LED-backlit display (320 x 240), a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR / WiFi, HSDPA, quad-band GSM support, aGPS, a 3.1-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot. As for the Voice Messenger (pictured after the break), it's packing a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 LED-backlit screen, a 20-key "keyboard" and most everything else already mentioned on its big bro. There's nary a clue on pricing or a release date, but we imagine both of those snippets will reveal themselves shortly.<br /><strong><br />Update:</strong> We just scored an internal HP doc with prices and ship dates -- expect to see the Voice Messenger for &euro;399 ($532) on November 5th and the Data Messenger for &euro;499 ($665) on November 22nd, both on Vodafone in the Netherlands. One more shot of the Data Messenger with the keyboard slid out after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=1412">WMPowerUser</a>]<br /><a href="http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06a/215348-215348-64929-3352590-3352590-3806508.html"><br />Read</a> - HP iPAQ Voice Messenger<br /><a href="http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF06a/215348-215348-64929-3352590-3352590-3806501.html">Read</a> - HP iPAQ Data Messenger<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/20/hp-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-handhelds-emerge/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HP iPAQ Data Messenger / Voice Messenger handhelds emerge</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/20/hp-ipaq-data-messenger-voice-messenger-handhelds-emerge/">HP iPAQ Data Messenger / Voice Messenger handhelds emerge</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 20 Oct 2008 20:53:00 EST. According to "people briefed on the plan," the phone will have both a touchscreen and a keypad and, naturally, it'll run Windows Mobile 6.1 -- oh, and it'll be able to "send and receive emails, and access the Internet." While there's no indication of a price just yet, word is the device will be available in Europe first within the next two months, with a worldwide release to follow sometime thereafter.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gearlog.com/2008/10/hps_new_ipaq_to_be_aimed_and_c.php">Gearlog</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/03/hp-said-to-be-prepping-consumer-minded-ipaq-smartphone/">HP said to be prepping consumer-minded iPAQ smartphone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 03 Oct 2008 15:43:00 EST. After missing its July release target by a country mile, we'd thought the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/hps-pearl-er-silver-smartphone/">Silver</a> may have been canned -- but nope, she's alive and well, strutting her stuff for a few privileged hands around the world. The HSDPA 7.2Mbps handset with GPS and WiFi takes the original candybar Pearl's wildly successful format and applies a hearty dose of Windows Mobile Standard -- not a concept that's going to appeal to everyone, but for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/S740/">S740</a> shoppers of the world, a totally viable alternative. So we know <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/Vodafone/">Vodafone</a> has a keen eye on releasing this; anyone else?<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/">HP's Silver smartphone in the wild</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/#1067142"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/10/hp-silver-itw-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/#1067141"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/10/hp-silver-itw-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/#1067140"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/10/hp-silver-itw-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/#1067139"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/10/hp-silver-itw-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/#1067138"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadgetmobile.com/media/2008/10/hp-silver-itw-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/01/hps-silver-smartphone-in-the-wild/">HP's Silver smartphone in the wild</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 01 Oct 2008 13:22:00 EST. Dealer documentation seemingly intended for Rogers dealers has, of course, leaked out onto the interwebs, possibly revealing the entirety of the carrier's third quarter offerings. With the exception of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Bold/">Bold</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/KickStart/">KickStart</a> / Pearl 8220, there's nothing terribly mind-blowing in the mix, though the lineup does include a pretty healthy range of goodies from the low end to the reasonably high. Highlights include the Sony Ericsson W350a music flip, a phone we've already seen <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/15/sony-ericsson-w350-coming-to-atandt-ebay-says-so/">meandering about in AT&amp;T livery</a>, so it comes as little surprise that we'd see it up north as well; the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/10/hps-ipaq-910-smartphone-now-available/comments/13092851/">iPAQ 910c</a> Windows Mobile smartphone from HP; and a refreshed RAZR 2 that'll probably mirror the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/02/the-motorola-razr-2-v9x-for-atandt-brings-gps-non-hideous-color/">V9x</a>. All of these chewy technological morsels launch (in theory, anyway) by the end of September, which really only serves to makes us wonder: what's on tap up there for the holiday season?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/motorola/" rel="tag">Motorola</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/sony-ericsson/" rel="tag">Sony Ericsson</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/rogers-wireless/" rel="tag">Rogers Wireless</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/10/rogers-q3-lineup-revealed/">Rogers' Q3 lineup revealed?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 10 Aug 2008 21:02:00 EST. Finally, the 14 people who have been waiting patiently can now get their hands on HP's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ipaq900">iPAQ 910</a> Windows Mobile-based phone. There's not much to say you haven't already read -- the HSDPA, WiFi, and GPS equipped device can be purchased unlocked from HP's online store for the tidy sum of $499.99. They're shipping now... so what are you waiting for?<br /><br />[Thanks, James]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/10/hps-ipaq-910-smartphone-now-available/">HP's iPAQ 910 smartphone now available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 10 Jul 2008 09:57:00 EST. We first heard about HP's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/hps-new-ipaq-lineup-surfaces-with-fresh-photos/">iPAQ 900 / 914 3G Business Messenger</a> in September of last year, and after a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/31/even-more-hp-ipaqs-getting-delayed/">series of delays</a> (which seem to be <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/22/hps-ipaq-110-and-210-delayed/">endemic</a> to the iPAQ line), it looks like the device is finally set to start shipping. Nothing much has changed, except that a Windows Mobile 6.1 device with a 2.46-inch display, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA, and a 3 megapixel camera isn't exactly the hot sheets it was almost a year ago. That said, that chubby case hides a 1800mAh battery, which should let enterprise users get their business on for the better part of a full day. Should be shipping around the world starting June 30, although specific worldwide dates will vary.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=96">WMPoweruser</a> and <a href="http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=3095">Phone Scoop</a>]<br /><br /><a href="http://www.hp.com/large/campaigns/personal_again/press/ipaq900.html">Read</a> - HP press release<br /><a href="http://google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mobinaute.com%2F143434-ipaq-914-hp-lancer-pdaphone-3g-gps-wm6.html&amp;hl=en&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;sl=fr&amp;tl=en">Read</a> - Hands-on at Mobinaute<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/10/hp-to-finally-ship-the-ipaq-900-series-business-phone/">HP to finally ship the iPAQ 900 series business phone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 10 Jun 2008 15:47:00 EST. <div align="left">HP's iPAQ 900 series smartphones haven't exactly had the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/31/even-more-hp-ipaqs-getting-delayed/">smoothest of releases</a> ('round these parts at least) since they were first <a href="javascript:void(0);/*1208456089561*/">announced</a> way back in September of last year, but one of 'em has at least managed to recently trickle out into the hands of the lucky folks at the FCC, which could possibly indicate that it's actually nearing a US release. In case you missed it, the Windows Mobile-based phone was previously <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/18/hp-ipaq-910-coming-to-atandt/">hinted as coming to AT&amp;T</a> in its iPAQ 910 incarnation, although the FCC unsurprisingly doesn't have anything to say about that possibility. If you want a better idea of what may be in store, however, you can find plenty of pics of the device (including a peek at its innards) and its complete manual at the link below.<br /> <br /> </div>

There's nothing quite as profoundly unsettling as reading a review about a phone you can't have. For Americans, that's an all-too-common experience -- and thanks to the ongoing <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/02/qualcomm-yeah-broadcom-injunction-smarts-a-bit/">Qualcomm / Broadcom drama</a>, even phones that had originally been destined for the colonies have been unceremoniously dropped, destined for regions well beyond the reaches of the legal system. Case in point: HP had originally wanted to bring the interesting <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hps-ipaq-610-gets-demonstrated-on-video/">iPAQ 610 series</a> here, but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/13/hp-cancels-the-ipaq-610-smartphone-in-the-us/">backed off at the last second</a>. If you really want one, though, you can still finagle one from an importer -- not to mention that countless Windows Mobile fanatics populate areas of the globe friendlier to HP's latest pocket candy -- so Tracy and Matt's Blog took a close look at the 614c, which is now shipping. Although the reviewer found its Windows Mobile 6 load to be plenty speedy, he also discovered that it was a tad on the chunky side -- not to mention that the 3G radio seemed to be way flaky, the screen is too inset to use entirely stylus-free, and the virtual nav wheel embedded in the keypad (arguably the ace up the 610's sleeve) wasn't much fun to use. Nice try, HP, but on second thought, maybe we're not so broken up that you're keeping it out of the States.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/18/hps-not-for-us-ipaq-614-gets-reviewed/">HP's not-for-US iPAQ 614 gets reviewed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 18 Mar 2008 21:01:00 EST. What will it be, the good or the bad news first? How 'bout the good. After an initial rebuff, we finally managed to grab some photos of that exclusive T-Mobile MDA compact IV. You remember: 7.2Mbps HSDPA, GPS, VGA resolution screen, WiFi and 4GB of on-board storage. It'll also launch "mit neuestem Microsoft Betriebssytem" which we can safely assume is Windows Mobile 6.1 at this point. Oh yes, and the bad news. It's only a plastic dummy and our photographs were restricted by a glass cube. Still, this is as close as most of you will get for a long, long time. So apparently HP just has a very special form of hatred for its native soil, because that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hp-introduces-ipaq-600-and-900-windows-mobile-6-phones/">iPAQ 610</a> series with that nifty touch sensitive scroll wheel embedded in the keypad now appears to be <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/13/hp-cancels-the-ipaq-610-smartphone-in-the-us/">canceled</a> <em>only</em> in the US. This bittersweet news comes courtesy of British retailer Devicewire, which reports that it'll have examples of the iPAQ 614 available to its customers as soon as next Monday for the princely sum of &pound;389.99 (about $765). That's fine, though, HP, whatever. We didn't want your stupid iPAQ anyway.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news3870.html">CoolSmartphone</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/15/hp-ipaq-610-series-soldiers-on-outside-us/">HP iPAQ 610 series soldiers on outside US</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 15 Feb 2008 15:03:00 EST. Ah, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hp-introduces-ipaq-600-and-900-windows-mobile-6-phones/">iPAQ 610</a>. You were so close, and yet... so far away. According to a handful of tipsters, after a round of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/31/even-more-hp-ipaqs-getting-delayed/">delays</a>, HP has decided to cancel the release of its upcoming Windows Mobile smartphone, the 610 (also known as the iPAQ 614, 614c and 600). The company didn't give a lot of information, though they did state that, "due to recent legal issues between suppliers of mobile phone technologies, HP has decided not to offer the iPAQ 610 Business Navigator to U.S. customers as previously planned." It's unclear whether this means the phone will be missing from shelves worldwide, but it certainly won't be popping up on these shores anytime soon.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<br /><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/13/hp-cancels-the-ipaq-610-smartphone-in-the-us/">HP cancels the iPAQ 610 smartphone in the US</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 13 Feb 2008 23:49:00 EST. What would you do if the US patent office gave you the go-ahead on a far-reaching, non-specific application filed for a "mobile entertainment and communication device"? If your answer was that you would immediately draw up lawsuits against almost every major electronics manufacturer that even looked at a smartphone funny, you get a cookie. Yes folks, as impossible as it is to believe, the holders of the aforementioned patent have just sued Apple, Nokia, RIM, Sprint, AT&amp;T, HP, Motorola, Helio, HTC, Sony Ericsson, UTStarcomm, and Samsung... amongst others. So eager was this company to sue, in fact, that legal papers were filed a day before the patent was granted, and subsequently had to re-submitted. The real sucker-punch here is that the patent simply combines a list of prior technologies jumbled into one product, a practice which has recently been ruled against by the Supreme Court. Still, we doubt it will stop the holders from trying to nab a few dollars in settlements, staying the work of real innovators, and generally making a mockery of our patent system. <div align="left">Wow, just when we thought Vodafone might not have any more secrets, a couple more were dragged out of the bag. Seems BoyGenius' presentation <em>extraordinaire </em>wasn't complete without laying out exactly what can be expected this year on the Windows Mobile front. As you can see there are a couple new tasty morsels such as a HSDPA tablet with GPS and WiFi -- could be <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/htc-shift-the-cellphone-company-finally-goes-umpc/">HTC Shift</a> -- an unknown HSDPA slider with GPS and WiFi as well as the previously mentioned <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/palm-drucker-in-the-mix-better-only-than-zeppelin-among-pal/">Palm Drucker</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/vodafone-roadmap-reveals-hp-oak-all-gloss-no-wood/">HP Oak</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/hps-pearl-er-silver-smartphone/">HP Silver</a>, and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/palm-wanda-is-the-treo-500v-successor/">Palm Wanda</a>. <div align="left">HP's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/10/hulger-offers-up-pricey-wooden-ziricote-phone/">Oak</a> makes an appearance in the relentless binge of new handset madness that is the Vodafone roadmap. The HP Oak delivers many of the baubles we've come to expect from Windows Mobile devices, things like 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, quad-band GSM, qwerty keyboard, a touchscreen, and even GPS have found there way in. Other connectivity options include the almost standard WiFi and Bluetooth, with chatter time listed as 3.5 hours and 360 hours standby. We're feeling a lot of similarities between this fella and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/07/htc-p4550-kaiser-gets-name-meet-the-htc-tytn-ii/">HTC TyTN II</a>, but the HP gets the puffy rainbow sticker -- with prancing Pegasus, of course -- for opting to add that ultra-handy dialpad on the front. Oak's due date is set for September 2008 at roughly $500.</div>

Palm's not the only company bringing some new Windows Mobile kit to Vodafone this year -- Boy Genius Report's scoopage of Voda's '08 lineup includes a new HP, too. The "Silver" (a codename, we assume) should put the kinda sad <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/12/hp-ipaq-510-voice-messenger/">iPAQ 510</a> out of business and appears to take a page straight outta the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/pearl">Pearl's</a> book, right down to the WiFi, GPS, and SureType keyboard (which is surprisingly actually identified as "SureType," a RIM trademark). Unlike the Pearl, though, this sucker rocks Windows Mobile 6 Standard and HSDPA -- a whopping 7.2Mbps of it. Look for it in July for about &pound;250 ($494).<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/vodafone/" rel="tag">Vodafone</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/05/hps-pearl-er-silver-smartphone/">HP's Pearl -- er, "Silver" smartphone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 05 Jan 2008 17:50:00 EST. Amidst the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/22/hps-ipaq-110-and-210-delayed/">recent delays</a> (and subsequent <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/25/hp-clarifies-ipaq-situation-210-delayed-110-shipping-now/">clarifications</a>) of the 110 and 210 comes news that a whole slew of the devices will not be shipping on time. Reportedly, HP Austria has confirmed to <em>TamsPPC</em> that the 110 won't arrive until early next month, while the 200 series won't land until January of next year. It gets worse -- the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hps-ipaq-610-gets-demonstrated-on-video/">614 / 614c Business Navigator</a> is purportedly delayed until next February, and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hp-introduces-ipaq-600-and-900-windows-mobile-6-phones/">914 / 914c</a> isn't set to arrive until <strike>the cows come home</strike> May of 2008. As for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/hps-new-ipaq-lineup-surfaces-with-fresh-photos/">314</a>, you can still expect it by the end of next month. Granted, we can't confirm that Austria-based delays will necessarily affect America and the rest of the globe, but it certainly isn't confidence instilling news, regardless.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/31/even-more-hp-ipaqs-getting-delayed/">Even more HP iPAQs getting delayed?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 31 Oct 2007 15:26:00 EST. We're not really used to being buried in an endless array of Windows Mobile devices on <em>any</em> American carrier, but that could be the very problem we all face on AT&amp;T if this latest tidbit materializes. Between the Tilt, Q Global, SMT5700, Pantech Duo, Treo 750, and the BlackJack -- all released or just around the corner -- pretty much every form factor, platform, and price point is covered, and it looks like the recently announced <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hp-introduces-ipaq-600-and-900-windows-mobile-6-phones/">HP iPAQ 910</a> is in play now, too. Documentation on HP's site calls out the 910c (the version equipped with a 3 megapixel autofocus cam) as destined for AT&amp;T's airwaves, a logical move considering the device's support for HSDPA 850 / 1900. Yeah, the extra choice means extra confusion for consumers just looking for a decent smartphone -- but with GPS, WiFi, and a touchscreen rocking Windows Mobile 6 Professional, we're not about to complain. In its fray of iPAQ introductions today come <a href="http://motorola.engadgetmobile.com/2007/09/05/hps-new-ipaq-lineup-surfaces-with-fresh-photos/">two new phones</a> from HP -- the first since the rather bland <a href="http://ww.engadgetmobile.com/2007/02/12/hp-ipaq-510-voice-messenger/">510</a> -- potentialy throwing the once-dominant Windows Mobile force back into the hunt. First up, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hps-ipaq-610-gets-demonstrated-on-video/">600</a> series Business Navigator comes equipped with integrated GPS, a generous 2.8-inch touchscreen, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, 3 megapixel autofocus cam, WiFi, and Windows Mobile 6 Professional, all sitting atop a Marvell PXA270 putting along at 520MHz. The 600 rocks a numeric keypad; a dealbreaker for some, yes, but the nifty touch-sensitive scroll wheel integrated into the keys may be enough to sway a few back. The 900 series, meanwhile, swaps out the numeric pad for a standard QWERTY outfit and steps down to a 2.46-inch display, but the specs remain otherwise similar to its stablemate. Look for both to ship before the year's out.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=2372">Phone Scoop</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hp-introduces-ipaq-600-and-900-windows-mobile-6-phones/">HP introduces iPAQ 600 and 900 series Windows Mobile 6 phones</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 06 Sep 2007 11:07:00 EST. Notably, the built-in WiFi, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Bluetooth/">Bluetooth</a>, HSDPA, click-wheel, three-megapixel camera, integrated GPS, and Windows Mobile 6 operating system were all highly praised, but the lackluster 320 x 240 resolution display looked to be a (critical) weak point. Nevertheless, the device does look pretty sharp (or maybe we're just suckers for all that connectivity), so be sure and click through for a look at the interview.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hps-ipaq-610-gets-demonstrated-on-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>HP's iPAQ 610 gets demonstrated on video</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/06/hps-ipaq-610-gets-demonstrated-on-video/">HP's iPAQ 610 gets demonstrated on video</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 06 Sep 2007 05:31:00 EST. Hot on the heels of those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/03/shots-of-hps-upcoming-ipaqs-leaked/">blurry, low-quality photos</a> of the upcoming HP iPAQs, come these shiny new pics sure to have waiting fans foaming at the mouth. As you can see, the new handhelds are definitely a reality, and now we've got details on added models to the lineup, as well as rumored release information. First and foremost is the iPAQ 914 (pictured), a Windows Mobile smartphone with a 3-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, and HSDPA support. HP is also intro'ing the 614, another Windows Mobile device (this one presumably with a touchscreen), plus GPS, WiFi, and HSDPA -- both new phones are said to be selling for around $800. The company is also introducing the 314, a GPS navigator with custom HP software, and the iPAQ 214 and 114 ($500 / $430), two Windows Mobile-based PDAs without any phone functions (though they have WiFi, allowing for VoIP). All of the devices are said to be hitting shelves in October, save for the 914, which is due (supposedly) in November. Feel free to hit the read link for more info, though we warn you, it's in Swedish.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.unwiredview.com/2007/09/05/hp-ipaq-914-hp-ipaq-614-hp-ipaq-314-hp-ipaq-214-hp-ipaq-114/">Unwired View</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/05/hps-new-ipaq-lineup-surfaces-with-fresh-photos/">HP's new iPAQ lineup surfaces with fresh photos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 05 Sep 2007 09:35:00 EST. We've already heard <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/13/hp-looking-to-rebuild-pda-smartphone-empires/">plenty about this pair</a>, the new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/15/hp-ipaq-600-gets-korean-confirmation/">600</a> and 900 iPAQ series, but the folks over at MoDaCo look to have uncovered the first, albeit sketchy, pictures of the devices. Labeled the iPAQ 614c and 914c, the two devices line up pretty nicely with the rumors, with the 614c rocking a 2.8-inch QVGA screen in a candybar form factor with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, HSDPA, WiFi and a touch wheel, and even tacking on GPS and a 3 megapixel camera to the already juicy list. The 914c rotates the screen and goes QWERTY, with only 2.5-inches due to the orientation, but the same QVGA resolution and the rest of the 614c's specs. If these facts are legit, HP could be fighting back into the smartphone fray in a pretty big way<br /> <br /> [Thanks, ZSX]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/03/shots-of-hps-upcoming-ipaqs-leaked/">Shots of HP's upcoming iPAQs leaked?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 10:41:00 EST. A spokesman for HP Korea has said that a "third-generation PDA phone, dubbed the iPAQ 600" will launch on multiple Korean carriers later this year, featuring HSDPA, a numeric keypad, and likely a 2.8 inch display. Of course, a Korean launch doesn't really do us very much good in these parts, but we've gotta believe that HP is going to aim for one or more American launches as well as they've done in the past -- and even if it doesn't, the reported tri-band HSDPA radio should work swimmingly once we get any carrier lock issues taken care of.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.theunwired.net/?item=validated-hp-korea-confirms-ipaq-600-smartphone-existence">the::unwired</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hp/" rel="tag">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gprs/" rel="tag">GPRS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/15/hp-ipaq-600-gets-korean-confirmation/">HP iPAQ 600 gets Korean confirmation</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 15 Aug 2007 15:50:00 EST.
